10 Days Since launch and no que position tracker

Your numbers assume that roughly speaking there are 8 card models that are considered inferior (less appealing perhaps) to the model you're in queue position 200 for and for each of these 8 models there are 200 people that have ordered before you did, and they all request and get a queue swap plus they hold their time of order position.

That's a lot of if's.

Worst case I think we might be looking at a queue change of perhaps a few dozen. And the further back you are in the queue the less it will matter as the amount of stock they're getting should increase a lot, plus there will be people who cancel altogether, or people who jump from your queue to another.

And yes, those people getting out of "your" queue might have made that jump anyway - the point is that your position in the queue will change for various reasons, and people going from queue to queue is only one of those reasons.

I think most went from any card to ASUS TUF. Would be crazy not to given the reviews.

This thread has been going for a couple of days. I would have though someone from OC would have posted something, even if it just “sorry, we are working on it”

What good would that do, it will just frustrate people more.

i have not added any flames to the forums as i was prepared to give OC the benefit of the doubt over this but the total lack of silence is deafening. they have damaged their reputation going forward with how they have handled this situation

I suspect that's very unlikely. Based on the number of people who ordered the cards, they might have 1% of their customer base who were unhappy with the service and decide to go to a competitor next time. Guess what... You'll find that same 1% who were unhappy with a competitor who will now order at OCUK next time. It's just the way a lot of companies work.

They could communicate what day they are up to pre order wise.

IE We are still working on 17th September orders

That's unlikely to make much difference either. I imagine most of the order list was made on launch day, so even if they were in the process of shipping card #800, it'll likely still have the same order date as card #1.

This is true but many people would still like to know. Quite often knowing bad or less than desirable news is better simply not knowing what that news is.

No it won't speed anything up but being able to monitor ones position in the queue would also help get a feel for timescale too so you can have a proportionate or realistic expectation with regards to eta.

I empathise with OCUK's position but more transparency would be helpful and an official queue would, I hope satisfy that need that all us 3080 customers would like. I would also understand their hesitancy with issuing such a tool but given many may cancel however, they're still in the market for a gpu. This tool again might help longer term with customer retention as again, you're better able to gauge what's going on with your order.

I disagree, people get frustrated either way regardless of whether you're told your queue position or not.
- You might have a queue number of 30 which would seem great, but if it takes OCUK 6 weeks to get stock from that manufacturer you'll just get frustrated that things aren't moving quick enough
- If you get told your queue number is 1300, you'll likely decide to cancel and purchase from a competitor, which may well put you in position 2400 in a competitors queue
- If you don't get told your queue number, you'll keep getting frustrated with each day that goes past and wondering whether to cancel or that you might be next.

Basically, suck it up and wait.

Yeah perhaps, but were they in the queue before most other people? And how many jumped to Asus TUF period? Capacitor-gate aside which gave an initial impression of them being "much better" (they're not), there really is very little between any of these cards, they all perform about the same.

Plus any that did jump on Asus TUF made the queues shorter for those waiting for something else.

There is no official queue tracker as OCUK are allowing people to swap cards without losing queue position.

If true that is the biggest foxtrot uniform possible. People chose certain cards for a reason... It should be first come first served on the specific card... People who chose a card and then were allowed to switch to something that arrives faster isn't on imho..

When (another uk e-tailer I can't name) had it available for pre-order it said stock expected November, some end of November and that was last week.

I doubt OcUK will do a queue system as people will then see how bad the situation it really is and also the fact they allow queue jumping.

There is no reason NOT to have a queue lookup in place.
Right now OCUK's phones are getting bombarded with calls asking for queue positions and updates I imagine.
If the position lookup was available on the website they could do a mass mail once and be rid of 90% of these calls.
Normally I would assume that they are racing as fast as possible to get this sorted just to ease that kind of stress.
*Aluminium hat on* However, since they didnt bother to comment on the "queue jumping by switching types" issue
at all that leaves room for speculation. *Aluminium hat off*
Even if people see a high queue number and cancel - they would do so anyway at some point in the future. The sooner this happens,
the clearer order books become and things get back to a level OCUK can manage. The benefit of having people cancelling now rather than
in two weeks is avoiding a lot of angry forum posts / google reviews / phone calls.

They'll get a lot of bad reviews for price gouging any ways, they could do without adding fuel to the bonfire.

The queue jumping thread now contains screenshots from multiple sources with correspondence from OCUK confirming that the contents of an order have changed, but the order number and timestamp remain the same. At this point, the above is a pretty sane claim to make without a tinfoil hat.

Of course, that does imply that if a queue indicator were provided, people could see it go up as well as down. I imagine that people are likely to lose trust in the fairness of the allocation system if they see their position in the queue to up.

Why do so many people seem to not realise that OCUK is a business to make money. They don't care about you and they certainly don't want people to know how long they might have to wait for a card for fear of mass cancellations. Just like all the other companies.

I hope everybody who has ordered do get their cards soon but from what I can see it really doesn't look good. I'm hoping to get a 2nd hand card upgrade from my 1070 so the more people with new cards would be good for me.

how are people allowed to retain there queue position when changing cards thats a phisstake
i ordered a tuf oc and was 802 on the unofficial queue list now im 985 as of recent checking

Can we get a estimation tool created that estimates when the queue estimation tool will be released so we can get an estimation of when we will get our GPU's?

I think if you compared the requests for a queue tool vs ocuk's responses to said requests over time you could predict when it will be released.

Some members of the community have already produced a tool to indicate your queue position: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/foru...order-queue-calculator-not-official.18899573/. Of course, the person who developed it does not have access to OCUK's data. So the tool merely estimates your place in the overall queue of orders since 17/9, 2pm and multiplies that with an estimate of the proportion of orders for your card. Estimating when your card will be delivered is impossible since nobody knows at what rate cards will be delivered. All anyone can say is that things will improve over time.

That list is wrong.

I was 1603..then went to 1890 in 2 days.
I have cancelled my ASUS OC 3080 and gone for the 3090 version

It's not wrong, it's just inaccurate because the authors don't have access to the order data. We just have to wait for an official solution, which should come "a few days" after 21/9.
