£10 for 5 MW2 Maps LOL

I was actually going to buy this, but I will never Pay £30 for a game knowing I have to pay £12 extra for some maps, sorry IW but my money will be going on BF2 maps as long as they're reasonably priced (£5-£6 isn't too shabby)

Think i'll stick with Arma 2.

These publishers and game studio's are slowly turning PC gaming into console gaming. Whats the point, i have a PS3, but i play games on my PC.

Im so surprised this game still gets 70,000 people playing online (Steam stats). The MP feels so spammy and bad to me
I don't think theres that many these days.. in the mornings i know its like 30-40K, When i started i saw a max of like 90k. Don't think i've seen over 65k recently.. don't always look though :P

£12 for 5 maps?! according to wikipedia 2 of them are re-hashes of CoD4 maps!

"The pack contains five maps: reincarnations of the Crash and Overgrown maps from Call of Duty 4, and three new maps: Bailout, a multi-level apartment complex; Storm, an industrial park littered with heavy machinery; and Salvage, an abandoned car junkyard in the middle of the snow"

an expansion pack justifies additional purchases
£10-£20 is a reasonable amount to pay for a good game expansion

new missions, new weapons, new features

a new/rehashed map pack is simply not an expansion and leaves me feeling a little bitter

glad i have got well into BC2 tbh

GFWL tried to charge pc gamers for additional content etc and failed hard
hopefully this kind of scheme will fall flat and discourage people away from the franchise

considering the modding community has created a total conversion of cod4 (including new maps and weapons) into a star wars battlefront style game and released it for free, this really is dire value :p

You've gotta love their optimism that people who bought their **** game that still doesnt work properly will think, "oh I'll buy another 3 new maps and 2 rehashes for another 13 quid" I certainly wont be buying their lazy ass ****, or any IW/Activision games full stop.

tbh the game wasnt that bad. The lack of dedis and what that brought made it awful.

This just confirmed that all this BS over IWNET was all Activisions doing.

As someone said COD = dead

now we know the real reason IWNET was created! load of boll#$% they spun about stopping cheats. Sorry shouldn't really be this p!ssed off about something so small in life but if somebody tried taking the p!ss out of me in the street i would probably punch them.

Timeline of events is something like this:

PC gaming becomes a mature audience (People with more than just a paper round or pocket money)

Developers catch on to the fact the mature audience has money and produce those games suitable for that audience.

PC Gamers make there own mods and maps and improve community and lifespan of game.

Developers catch on and decide they can make people on console pay for mods and maps via DLC.

Developers backhandedly produce a pc game promising no cheats due to IWNET which underdelivers, is plagued with problems and hackers.

Developers charge for 5 maps 2 of which i personally already paid for when i bought MW1.

Developers kill PC gaming completely, Gaming hardware no longer needed.

Its only £12 i know its just the way they did it, the pc community did a lot for gaming and helped grow games by using the community around them to create additional mods, maps ect.

How many true PC gamers have had a game that should be dead but got re-skinned, modded, maps ect and kept that game alive for a lot longer than it should have been.

Sorry rant over and gonna get another beer :)

Your own fault for falling for the marketing hype tbh.

If you see a product that's marketing budget is 4 times it's entire development cost you should know it's going to be bad.

Whats the big outrage, if you dont like it dont buy it simples. I could understand if they made it a big secrate about inet and the dlc but they didnt.

If they came out and said we sick of people downloading our games and playing on cracked servers we are not going to bother releasing it on pc there would have been a much bigger outrage.

Your average ps3 xbox game costs 40 quid.

I have got 89 hours out of mw2 as well as 10 hours out of the single player and spec ops. Which isnt bad and it longer then most games last me. I still play it now and again. Its always good for a quick bash.

The stuff with dlc on consoles has been happening for years people look at it as a way of extending the life out of their fave games.

I wont be buying the map pack maybe if it was a few quid then yes, as i dont see at value for money for a game i dont play much. I recently bought all the boarderlands dlc which cost me nearly 20 quid to some people that might be a waste of money but to me its not. I'm sure there are some that feel that way about the map pack even more so on console.
