lol you really do have no control of a car at 104mph. And weird stuff happens at those speed in an accident. Like the knob of the radio coming of and buring itself in the head beleive it or not.

What a completely ridiculous statement. He wasn't in a 1 litre corsa, he was in a Porsche which is capable of much greater speeds.

He's actually correct. As you exceed 70mph, you gradually lose control in increments of 4 to 5%. At a ludicrous 104mph, you are completely out of control.

Anyone who actually uses the motorways regularly knows that 70 as a speed limit is just a joke anyway. Typical speed is much, much higher.

And if that limit was raised how much would that typical speed increase by ?

Personally I don't have a problem with a 70mph limit, given this is a limit it is commonplace for drivers to do a certain amount over that, and the police can exercise discretion on drivers who are exceeding it in a safe manner, and those who are quite frankly taking the proverbial.

A higher limit on the motorways with the volume of traffic and quite frankly dreadful standard of driving from many of joe public... no, not a good idea in my opinion.

Then why do Bugatti sell a car that will do 250MPH+, by then surely you will have exploded?

It's designed for German roads, they allow far greater retention of control at speed due to the large amounts of Bratwurst used in the surface make up.

What a knobhead. (Do you see what I did there?)

This one time on a non public road I did 121MPH and I actually saw the wheels on my car begin to come out. So scared I was at the thought of losing all control that I have never ever been over 63.4MPH since!

Plus thanks to X-Box and PS3 we all have uber reflexes these days too.

This is a proven scientific fact as well!
