Which claim specifically are you referencing?
Does it matter? almost the entire video bares little resemblance to the actual facts and that was just one example.
I mean read the GA10x whitepaper and compare against his claims https://www.nvidia.com/content/dam/...pere-GA102-GPU-Architecture-Whitepaper-V1.pdf
His video was from May, the whitepaper published in August.
That is kind of the point - people are taking his information with a level of validity that is unwarranted when the facts come to light.
This guy is kinda hit and miss.
So as per the topic of this discussion, ive got a 3090 FE and the new COD beta. At 1440p max settings it uses 14-15gb VRAM.
Was going to sell my 3090 and get a 3080 but wont now! Probably a sign of the higher vram usage from the new consoles....

Yeah, I think we've been led astray for years on this.Used or Allocated?
Very different things.
I bet it doesn't actually use that much. Allocate? Sure.So as per the topic of this discussion, ive got a 3090 FE and the new COD beta. At 1440p max settings it uses 14-15gb VRAM.

I get that but I don't think Nvidia benefit from AIB profiteering from demand spiking.I agree in regards to a lot of wrong info that video, however there are various theories, like the AIB rebate, which I subscribe to, I am rather cynical when it comes to Nvidia.

Ah, got you. That would be the cherry on top for this mess.I'm not so sure they are profiting, if Nvidia is giving them a temporary rebate whilst also setting the price for GDDR6X/dies, they can appear to be the angel (sell FE at msrp) whilst charging AIB's more for the components making the AIB prices higher.

A lot of people yet don’t understand that there is a difference. Hence all the concern.Actually usage or allocated? Bear in mind the entire memory pool of the new consoles is 16gb, not just vram.
Think you find a 3080 will not fit into the new consoles so i can't see what the new consoles have got to do with a PC GPUThe new consoles will use 10GB at most for graphics. The XBox has a 6/10GB split in RAM speed.
