100 degrees C in Cinebench R23 at stock. Using a Lian Li Galahad 360 with pump at 100% and fans at 1500 rpm. I was able to get to 83 degrees on my K cpu if I undervolted by 0.0650. My K series CPU has an SP of 79.

Looking at the hand written table from @Robert896r1 mine is not even showing on it, it is that bad. As it currently stands I think i have the worse 12900KS in the world. Just my luck.

My K series is Sp84 with the performance core showing sp103 so my E cores are letting mine down. But that KS seems to be bad value to me. You might need a wind turbine to cool that.

The one thing to keep in mind with the 12900K vs 12900KS is the VIDS, as the 12900K will top out at 5300 and the KS is 5500, so you can't directly compare the SP numbers.

I was just hoping for a better binned chip, one where I could keep at most 5.3ghz but a lot lower volts and therefore temps. I am running a Galahad 360 AiO which is one of the better one's. I would prefer not to have to get back into a custom loop, hence why I wanted better silicon. If Silicon Lottery the business was still operating, I would have purchased through them.

Unfortunately I dont have the finances to be able to buy 5 or 6 KS CPU's to bin and then sell off the one's I dont want. I have basically been out of work these last two years due Covid, just got back into full time work and decided to upgrade my system as a celebration/reward.

Does anyone sell pre binned CPU's they are honest, prompt and ship overseas? Dont want to get scammed, already lost enough money on a K and now KS. I appreciate it is truly a silicon lottery, was expecting that the KS would be a lot better than the K.

Thank you for all of your replies and feedback. If you are like me and expecting to pay a premium to "guarantee" a better binned chip, be careful.

Cheers.

Anyone know how well the 9900KS were binned?? No wonder stock is not an issue with the KS variant, looks like Intel set the bar wat to low.

9900KS was much rarer I think and wasn't on sale very long at all, I had three and they all did 5.3 all core so were a cut above regular 9900K.

It can also be hard to say as when Intel announce these models they keep all the best bins so you will see the max bin quality of the regular model being reduced.

So early made 12900K was likely to have more variation than newer ones as in theory the best would be allocated to 12900KS.

Doesn't seem worth premium - 12900K was selling for £465 last week, huge premium and RPL will be sure to beat it.

1. you cant compare SP of KS vs K. It's not directly comparable.
If you had a look what was posted here in the thread you would know the average SP for p cores for KS is about 99, minimum 93 and maximum 105. Yours is 91 so ye I understand your frustration, however I guess this is still better than an average SP 12900K.

2. 9900KS bins as follows. In general they were +100MHz better all core oc.

So far my KS can do 5.2Ghz all cores at 1.250v max package temp is 76 degrees = R15 pass

5.3Ghz all core at 1.250v = BSOD

5.3Ghz all core at 1.300v = R15 freezes

5.3Ghz all core at 1.305 = R15 error

5.3Ghz all core at 1.310 = R15 display artifacts, passes, package temp = 85 degrees

5.3Ghz all core at 1.315 = R15 passes, package temp = 85 degrees

Bios set voltage (actual VRM Core Voltage now named in bios 1403)

hmmm thats strange, this seems to be quite low SP P rating :( (on ocn forums there's another user with SP P of 91)

we need to see more chips so we can figure it out whats best and whats worst.
Any more data @Robert896r1

BTW what is that discord chat that picture you posted is from ?
