You can bet that drivers with that mentality are more afraid and aware of getting caught by the cops than they are of getting killed.

A total idiot, but this country is a joke.
Judging by the road wars programs etc then you would get less time if you stole the bike,did what this guy did then run from the law and finally crashed into a cop car trying to escape.
If you have money and are a semi-decent person your screwed, if your a dirty thieving drain on society then you'll get let off!

Completely agree. No way he could react fast enough at that speed to avoid an obstacle. Plus breaking distances should be quite different too!Speaking from experience of driving a truck @ 50MPH I can assure you that I'd have a lot more chance of avoiding potential disaster than Mr Biker going 80MPH FASTER than I am.

I've already seen too many dead Bikers over the years in my Job and I am deeply saddened that the trend, judging by some views expressed, is only going to continue.
Agree with this too. I used to feel the same very soon after getting my full license (car).
Near misses and scary moments helped to adjust my viewpoint - it's just worrying that some lesser, equally and better experienced drivers/riders don't mature in their driving views as well.

As for 'no-one is in danger' don't make me laugh - how could you possibly know what's round the next corner that you choose to carrer round at over the speed limit.
I've had fun in my cars over the years but there's a time and a place to be quite honest.
BTW: I drive a 1.25l fiesta so you can have a good laugh at that too.

i slow down for corners m8... especially ones I cant see round.
if you can see round corner and / or know there are no turnings / dangers / other road users ahead, give it loads!
