I'm tempted to jump on Zen 3 this year... that itch is getting worse
Likewise my X58 system has been doing well, but it is getting to that point where we should upgrade

My X58 system is still fully working but my wife wanted an upgrade so I did both of ours in one shot. It's definitely snappier when doing lots of stuff at once, e.g. opening Firefox with 20+ tabs is much quicker, transcoding is much faster (although I rarely do this). Gaming is 50/50, some games are identical others are night and day; depends how CPU dependent they are.Likewise my X58 system has been doing well, but it is getting to that point where we should upgrade
Ok thanks. Yeah FH BIOS.
I did remove 6gig (3 sticks of dominator ddr3) to leave just 3 sticks of Corsair XMS. Will try with 1 stick next time I visit.
Could try another CPU as a X5660 or something is only £15ish
Mate could you post you overclock, tksYour core voltage seems a little low.
I'm running a X5660 at 4.3 on all cores, CPU-Z reads 1.376v
Thanks mate will give it a try
I'm not sure if this is right, or it can be done better. This has been running stable for several months.

My 5650 is still going strong. Still my main desktop PC. I'm still playing the latest game releases on it albeit with a 1060 8Gb card instead of a 760GTX but the games all run superbly at 1080p at max settings.
These chips are just bloody awesome little performers.
If anyone can chime in to how I can improve this, please do. Ratio of 21 is the highest for this chip.
Is it now a case of increasing the BCLK until it fails to be stable?
