1366 X58 Xeon 5650

I bought P4clock's X5650 bundle, and have to say, I am well impressed. Notched it down a tad on voltage to 1.34 from 1.35 and it's running sweet as a nut at 4.4Ghz.

Nice upgrade from my Q6600!

Who is this p4clock you speak of? and where can I buy this bundle?

P4Clock is an OCUK forum member who has posted in this thread, and he put his X5650 bundle (chip/mobo/ram) up for sale on the MM (members market) and I was lucky enough to purchase it. :)

Wow, this thread was 26 pages last time I looked! Glad to see it's still going strong. Need to give it a thorough read and see about pushing my chip further.

Seems i could have made a good time to upgrade after reading through some of this. May get something back for my ex58 bundle after all! :D I wonder if majority of ebay peeps know of this though?

I'd say snap up a chip if you've got the spare cash. There are still a number on ebay and this threads been around for like seven months.

Aha, then yes you did, as peeps have already said it's a good time to swap out. MM should do you and someone else a treat.

It's been a long time since I invested any serious time in overclocking. I pretty much dropped my 5675 in and got it to a 'good enough' state. Any suggestions? I'm also running a mix of 1866 & 1600 ram... Could spend some beans come payday to sort that out. And yes, I have read all the posts I missed since I was last here ;p

what board do you have? what clock do you have on the 930?
they have been going up over the last month, started at 50-60, i think 80 is high but you can get 30 for your old cpu.

ever 5650 i had did over 4-4.2Ghz but i had a good board.

My board is a ga-x58a-ud3r. Current clock is 3.5Ghz. I can get it to 4 GHz but running intel burn test takes the temp close to 90 degrees so I lower the clock and it tops out at around 75 degrees. I am using an Antec Kuhler to cool the cpu.
