Not the least bit confusing for the end userIntel says part of the 14th gen desktop lineup will contain meteor lake CPUs
So this confirms one of the earlier leaks which I haven't seen repeated recently, that lower end 14th gen chips will probably be meteor lake and the high end 14th gen will be Raptor lake refresh
So the thread title is/was wrong?Intel confirms Meteor Lake is coming to desktops in 2024

Sounds a bit like waiting for the 15700k (or whatever it gets called) might be a bigger difference.Wonder if the 14700K will be a good upgrade for my 12900K.
Some parts of the chip will. Depends on the use.Wonder if the 14700K will be a good upgrade for my 12900K.

It's ~£100 now for a 32GB 6400 MT/s DDR5 kit.Too expensive!
Maybe the next one will be called Lake Lake. I agree though, even though I read about this stuff regularly,I could, not tell you one Lake from the other. Skylake was 6700? And Comet Lake Lake was 9900 or 10000(!) Series. Apart from that who the hell knows anymore. Why do they like lakes so much? You’d think they would come up with more distinctive / less confusing code names.
Is the thread title wrong? Isn’t 14th gen Meteor Lake and 15th gen Arrow Lake?
Is it correct Meteor Lake won’t support Thunderbolt 5? Seems an oversight not to include it?
