15 police officers hurt in brixton overnight

The force said officers indicated for the vehicle to stop but it failed to do so and made off “at speed”
Parent driving eratically with a baby in the back - it does sound like the babies at risk - a la Raising Arizona

Police being tried by social media with the edited video she uploaded, and they can't easily reciprocate with their bodycam or car footage.

Wonder if we'll ever learn the truth of the Dawn Butler Smollett incident... like she could allow the bodycam footage to be released any time... strange how she seemingly only wanted her mobile phone footage out there for the media to take a look at and talk about racism etc...

Wonder if we'll ever learn the truth of the Dawn Butler incident . . .
That will be when the car was pulled over after an officer entered the wrong details into the police computer which wrongly claimed the car was registered to Yorkshire will it?

It is quite outrageous that anyone at all from Yorkshire would dare to drive in the capital - let alone a person of colour in an expensive BMW who might be involved in the gang or knife crime which is so common in the deprived and lawless South of England ;)

Chill bro, even the Police have admitted their mistake and moved on from this by now.

It's just power games now. Seeing how far they can push for victim clout.

they're just waiting until they are quorate, one more influencer and it'll be bingo ,
more people should post favourable, normal-peoples encounters with the police.

Oh oh, let me let me! I was driving to work and got pulled over this morning. They asked me how I was and pointed out they're doing a tyre awareness campaign. I made it clear I was aware of tyres. I laughed. They politely laughed whilst thinking I was a bit of a twerp. They then checked the depth and pressures and thanked me and let me go to work.

I mean I could have tried to drive away. I could have stuck a phone in their face. I could have been belligerent. I could have been violent.

Or I could have made a crap joke and got on my way.

OMG did you get tasered and are you OK? :p

To be fair, my terrible craic would have warranted it.

A tiny bit of humility goes a long way, eh?

I work with young people and I am constantly amazed by their lack of respect for authority and their elders. My 8 year old has more social skills than most of the older children I see day to day.

Successive governments have made the police an easy target. Labour, Conservative, LibCon flip flap makes no difference. Politics is failing our police and regular people

It's lack of respect for anyone and that's because the message they're frequently being raised on is that they're special. They're important. They're the best thing ever. Nobody matters but them. Give them that message and of course they're going to turn out the way they are.

Don't the future King and Queen have young children?
Since the Met knows about them, I guess that they are on Merlin as well - so all good ;)

Lolstockhausen doesn't quite fully encapsulate the full scope of the obtuseness on display here....

The Metropolitan police's Merlin computer system records the details of any reports or incidents the police are notified of, are called to of find in the course of their duties where a child may have been deemed to have been exposed to some level or (potential) harm (physical, emotional, sexual etc).

Its not a system for randomly recording the details of any child in the public eye whether they have come to the particular attention of the police (via one of the above means) or not ......

Thats you out then
last/6mth encounter with the police : protested about police driving where I was nearly knocked off my bike, by what they said was an unidentifiable police car, hadn't got reg or race.
Respect for police significantly eroded, probably fortunate I conducted discussion over the phone since local police station usually closed now with cuts.

preceeding that : Italian police interview, following g8 riots, they had suspected explosives in my car and had it wired for a controlled explosion, as I returned from shopping, to cordonned street - very amicable, no rubber truncheons. - had been doing some repairs to interior, water leak e36, which had left exposed wiring, locals thought I had acted suspiciously.

No the message they frequently get is that they are worthless. Lets be honest does anyone in power show any respect for anyone else, unless they want their vote and then once they get it its bye bye.

A "tyre awareness campaign" you say?

I was under the impression that in the interests of consistency and accuracy you should always check tyre pressures when the tyres are cold

Did this really happen during these socially-distanced times?

I'd have thought they'd be reducing campaigns involving public interaction, or at least limiting them to the essential.
