£1850 Budget for Gaming Rig, Monitor snd Rift Bundle.

first one is current, second one is lowest recorded, 3rd one is Highest recorded value-

does seem high- what voltage is it pulling through? (CPU VCORE) - Looking for current and max value when running the stress test

does seem a bit high ? @Plec , have you used the stock cooler ? I was thinking 70c max at stock

1.224V

should be able to stop it now- seems its reached a plateau

not high voltage.

might be worth re-seating the CPU cooler again

that's a git!!! I have no thermal paste? I don't suppose there much point doing it without?

How should I go about doing that, obviously disconnect from power but am I ok just removing the cooler (if I can get to it) and leaving everything else where it is? and the just remount the cooler?

they had paste pre-applied to it

yeah, turn of power at the wall. lay the case on its back- take of thee glass and unscrew the fan and then line up and screw in again, opposite corners - bottom left- top right - bottom right- top left - and repeat a few times till they are all tight

that or there was a film cover over the base of the CPU cooler you forgot to remove... yep done this a few times! hahaha

would honestly try without glass panel just before- just to see if more airflow is needed as an in case

Im just going to to resear the cooler now. When i installed it initally I installed the way you describe but it cant hurt to try.

The picture shows wrer the tower sits, the glass pane is against the desk. Do you think were i have it positioned isnt helping?

Ive found a be quite pure wings fan on amazon and i think ive got a lead spare in the case for a third fan, will the new fan come with a lead to plug into the one in the case?

I will let you know when im back up and running.

@orbitalwalsh ive undone the 4 scews but the coolers stuck????

Every screw is unattached from tje mother board but it stuck solid. This that the thermal paste sticking to the CPU. It feels very solid and cant be good if it is??

Position of case is fine - most are tucked under desks (like mine).

You'll only have one crack at reseating the CPU - ideally don't move it when you've undone the screw - and if it fails you'll have to buy some TIM cleaner and some new paste.

That's fine - press it back down and re-tighten the screws using the diagonal method - bit by bit. Don't tighten one screw all at once - all bit at a time on the diagonal.

@Plec @orbitalwalsh

The cooler came off but i cant screw if back on. The screws are spring loaded and to get them to go into the holes to where they need to screw in to is taking to much pressure and will snap something! What am i doing wrong? I dont remember any issues when building?

should be a good amount of pressure when your applying it .

normally i get half a turn in on each screw so they are all biting, then screw them in

ah wait.... is the back plate still attached ??? might have popped out and why screws arent biting

looks at vidoe's, like you said shouldnt be massive pressure- but still a good palms worth

pop open the back of the case, see if backplate is still on, if its off- bit of masking tape to help it stay on :D

also noticed, wraith coolers have RGB ? should be a cable in the cpu box to hook from the Cooler to the mobo RGB header ....
*****
sorry, ignore this, 1700 came with red ring and there is RGB version but bought separately
