Judging by other websites they'll be far more than £500 mate.
 
Makes no sense. A card same performance as a £450 Nvidia card which uses more power and costs more and arguably has worse driver support?
Surely AMD could make an absolute killing with this if it was £350 - £400 but anything over £450 and who in their right mind would buy it?

You are looking at it wrong (so are a lot of other people, not picking on you :) ), this isn't a amd vs nvidia fight, this is a vega vs 580 mining fight, if vega mines twice or more faster than the 580, then they can charge twice or more than the 580, and 580's were selling at silly prices like £350-400+

So if it mines x2 (or more) as fast but costs £700 they will still sell every card.
 
If I show up at the shop on monday AM will I be able to buy a card? Will you be waiting until around midday to start selling cards in the shop too? Are a certain number being allocated to the brick n mortar shop, or is it a free for all?

I don't live far away and kind of want to get on a real world launch day hype train, but don't want to come to sunny stoke just to see F5ing miners buy all the stock in an instant.

2pm, and tbh I'd buy it online and opt to collect to make sure you have one to avoid a wasted journey.

That's what a preorder is. Ordering something before the official release date (doesn't matter if they have stock in the warehouse). I believe the review embargo is on Monday, but is that also the official release date (for sale date) for the GPU?
You need to remember that most companies don't post pictures on twitter about when they have stock of an item. They just book them in and ship them when they are allowed to.
Examples
Look at threadripper. you could preorder them from the start of the week, but they were only shipped yesterday or the day before. I bet Gibbo has had stock since last week, and 8pack was probably playing with them before reviewers where even doing the unboxings.
Games in brick and mortar stores, they probably have stock a week before the official release date but they can only sell them from the date specified in the contract they signed with said publisher

Pre ordering with PC hardware isn't normal. When it officially goes on sale is when it's available generally.
Threadripper was an anomaly (Or more of AMD's poor execution).

Normal launch is they already have the stock, then one day the NDA goes, reviews and products go live, shipped that day.

Fair enough (could you pre-order skylake-x? I feel like it was possible to buy it before reviews were out). I don't support pre-ordering, i will say that; If they are allowing pre-orders to go live after the review NDA, then its not something to worry about. It would be worrying if you could pre order before the reviews were out.

Pre-orders with reviews out and stock available wouldn't make any sense.
"Here's the product, it's all ready, but for some reason we're not sending you one".

To me, this will be a normal launch. NDA goes, reviews go live and the product goes live and shipping on Monday.

I'm pretty sure you couldn't pre-order skylake-x. In the same way you couldn't pre-order any of the ryzens etc.

At a guess logistical reasons, internal AMD timings. Either way I don't think its something to worry about.

I don't want to compete with miners that will just bot the site with multiple accounts to buy out all the stock.

If I come to shop and queue in an orderly manner at 1.45 will there be a card for me? Or in the 30 seconds it takes for me to make my order at 2pm will miners just buy out all the stock online?
 
Well at 1080 performance a heavily overclocked 980 Ti which is over 2 years old and will likely consume LESS power whilst being on 28nm will be nipping at the heels of Vega which launched at £550 and going by amds history Vega will be a **** overclocker just shows how much of a failure Vega is
