i agree with that would really like to see jenson in a top car dont really see it happening now though which is a shame maybe honda can turn it around but i dont see that happening overnight either jenson has been wasted there
must be really hard to keep motivated in his position

I can think of a few million reasons why he stays, plus he strongly believes that the 2009 Honda will be a competitive car.

It was only a few years when JB was giving Alonso some stick in his BAR and was having some great drives in a car that wasn't quite cut for the very top but top 5 finishes.

He's a great all-round driver and would make a great champion. I love his honesty and how he tells it how it is. It's a shame the Honda team aren't competative. I think it will be hard for a team in the bottom 10 to ever compete in the top 10 again. I don't recall it happening at all to be honest.

Benetton/Renault in 2001 were performing similar to Honda this year.

Like he did the 2007 Honda. And 2008 Honda :)

And JV did the 2000/2001/2002 etc etc

Button made the same mistakes, but then we all did in 99 when we heard Honda where returning. That Honda could be a force again.

I remember an issue of the 99 F1 racing mag. The pictures in the front had another BAR blow up with the caption something along the lines of 'dont worry jacques next year honda are coming' The scruitineer section at the back had a story of how miffed dennis was that honda didnt come back to them.

Honda started to make way then the engine freeze and reliability rules that were designed to help the smaller teams royally ****ed them over. They could no longer push the developement as hard because they wound back the revs and frooze the developement.

Another failed Mosley idea. I really don't know why they carry it on, its been what 5 years? and we still have the same two teams at the front.

Strange, as that is totally the opposite of what he said on Top Gear when asked if he would trade it all for driving a competitive car and going for the world title

In all fairness what would you expect him to say? "No thanks im quite happy to plod along at Honda, thanks"

good news
will geoff be happy to know you are speaking for him on a forum i doubt it very much lol
maybe autosport can pick up this story "button motivated by money" says willis
emailing them now :p

Isn't Lewis on a 5 year 70mil contract or something crazy?

Drivers want to win and have the best package under them, there's no denying that, but their success will inevitably lead to higher pay. For success they need a decent package under them so surely that is their main focus career wise.
