2009 Ashes Series - England vs. Australia **Spoilers**

All done, 58-3, no more wickets lost.

I have a small bit of faith that Strauss and Trott can hold their partnership for a little while tomorrow morning. Nothing amazing, but a nice solid 50 or so would be good. Doesn't seem like anything is predictable in this series though.

Anyone reckon we can get away with cloning four more Andrew Strausses to fill our top order with? He's been pretty much our only bright spot up there.

We just need a bit of patience now and just bat with a bit of authority, if we're still batting an hour after lunch tomorrow we can only win this.
The pitch is a 4 day pitch already and isn't going to get any better:)

It's looking good. Great position to be in- even if we come out tomorrow and collapse for 60-70 more it's still a great position

I just hope if england win that the bad performances by cook, colly and the rest are not forgotten. I also think broad can become a good all rounder if given the chance. He should look at focusing on becoming a line & length bowler.

You'll be safe at 200, no need to make any more than that. Australia clearly can't cope with swing bowlers; that's been obvious from the start. We came to the UK with a relatively weak bowling attack and a few rookies in the team, so I expected us to lose the Ashes - and we have!

We'll also lose our #1 ranking and probably have to wait a while before we get it back, but that's fair enough; you can't stay on top forever. We've dominated international cricket for some decades now, so there's nothing to be ashamed of.

England's performance has been somewhat haphazard to say the least, and a 2:1 victory isn't exactly superstar material; more like "Phew, that was lucky"! But it will give them some consolation after the 5:0 whitewash in 2007, and should spur our boys on to victory in 2011.

Overall, it's been an interesting contest between two rather average teams.

:)

amazing cricket yesterday, i am still stunned at how different each match has been.

it's real ups and downs, from Lords to Headingly it was a complete reversal.

if england can stay in until lunch and add another 100 i think we will have won the ashes.

BAN! imo :D

Broad isn't a swing bowler ,Swann is a offspinner and your batting line up is fairly strong. Stop making excuses we have smashed you.
