good for you....! im doing the same atm, my only excuse is being knackered at work is not an option as making a mistake would/could be a disaster. now ive followed phates diet for a week of liquid foods only like chunky soups, i can feel my stomach has shrunk and that even soups fill me, so portion size is back in control. my problem is getting the right amount of calories, fat, protein and carbs in with my shift cycles and jitsu. I dont want to start eating alone so the meals needs to incorporate my wife and 2 children. Im seriously considering speaking with a nutritionist to see what they can offer.
also used an online calculator and my Resting Metabolic Rate is 2100 for my height and weight, so to see decent weight loss I need a 500kcals deficit am I right?

But anyway I digress a bit there. I think if BMI is useful to some people then so be it. I bet its a very convenient tool for the health profession, saves the GP whipping your top up and measuring your spare tyre.
