2012 predictions

Its a shame the odds make it barely worth it though.

Hehehe.

I'm not usually a betting man (unless its a calculated risk), but I tell you what, I'm tempted to bet on Seb myself.

The odds can't be too good, though.

An each way on Webber is a better bet. At 1/5th odd for a top 3 finish it will return you 2.4/1 at the moment, which is a lot better than evens for Vettel winning.

And if Nuts is so confident, I think its safe to assume Webber will be getting in the top 3 :)

Edit: Just noticed Hamilton is second favorate... the Bookies clearly have some confidence he will turn it around. And lol at these :)

My either way bets on Web and But just about worked out this time, didn't pay much out though. Might just go for one or two single bets on WDC only.

Ive got a bet with Seb :)

me to , i bet him he couldnt beat msc at roc and now hes ignoring all my calls! the bet was only for his beanie hat FFS!

he must love it very much
sounds like scarbs suspects no one wants to give anything away at all on their cars

According to Sam Bird, #Mercedes MGP W03 will be 'radical' car with innovative radiators layout. | #F1
#Mercedes MGP W03 chassis with rear suspension has been already prepared in factory for two months and now being fine tuned - said Sam Bird.

Its becoming common practice for teams to not bring their new cars to the first test recently. I wouldn't read to much into it. After all, didn't RBR miss the first test entirely this year?

Nope.
RBR were present for all tests.
It was actually McLaren who missed the first test.

Last year however, RBR did miss the first test.
The year before that BrawnGP missed the first 2 tests (I think it was...though that was a freak of a car).

The testing has to change, the smaller teams need more time. Also, there should be another driver test at the start of the year.

I did some very rough maths that worked out that 1x 3day in-season test would increase the testing time available to teams by 50% (assuming that Friday of a race weekend is considered their only in season test time). 2 in season tests would have meant teams like Team Lotus (Caterham) would have been in the position they are now (the end of 2011) at the very start of this season.

Either way, not bringing your new car to the first test is not uncommon, and also not a sign of impending failure.

i remember a few times when ferrari didnt even use the new car for the first few season races and im sure mclaren have done the same before.
