2012 Weight Loss Thread

Sunday night update:

Dissapointing week really.
This was my first week of proper dieting after my race disrupted the first 2 weeks of the year.
It was going well through the week, i was eating well:
-All bran for breakfast
-Salad + pack of cooked chicken + banana for lunch
-Same as parents for dinner, but trying to eat smaller portions than usual

Didnt go so well at the weekend tho.
Started badly on friday night, dad was out for dinner with some guys from work so it was just me + mum at home and she wanted to go out for fish+chips - i couldnt really say no :p
Intended to go for a run on saturday morning, but was too tired after a long week at work.
Also skipped my usual cycle this morning blaming the weather - i need to man up a bit for next week.

Overall, it was a disappointing week. I'v now slipped even further back on my target weight.
Going to try and get serious next week.
 
Third week Weigh in:

Starting weight beginning of January 14st 6lb
Target weight end of June 11st

Last Monday 13st 11.5lb
This Monday 13st 10lb

1.5lb lost

A bit gutted tbh, I started back to work last week after being off since December the 23rd on Holiday and Jury Service, My Job as a delivery driver is quite physical so I expected a bigger loss :(
 
You don't want to lose too much per week mate, 1 - 2lbs a week (along with the right diet and exercise) will maintain muscle mass as well. I remember when I crash dieted years ago, lost a good 3 or 4 stone, but lost all my muscle along with it. Resulted in having a torso with a bit of fat on it, but arms that were completely devoid of muscle!
 
Third week weigh in:

Last Sunday - 22st 3lb
This Sunday - 21st 13lb

4lb loss


(Total loss since September '11 - 4st :D)
 
Hey All

Weekly weigh in this morning!

Last Monday: 103.3kg
This Monday: 101.9kg

Lost 1.4kg

Quite happy with that, especially as I had a Nandos on treat day!!

17kg more to lose though! So was the gym at 7am this morning, and off for an interval run tonight
 
I've got the myfitnesspal app now and it's making everything a lot easier. Actually starting to enjoy dieting now rather than it being a chore!
 
Well done Burtie! That is brilliant progress!

MFP is addictive isn't it Peanuts! I log everything, must annoy those around me
 
How the hell have you managed that? I start the day with 1500! I have 500 left, so off to the gym to earn some more lol
 
Similar situation for me today Peanuts, I'm allowed just over 1800 a day, gained 500 through cycling and have eaten about 1200, still got 1100 left but I'm done eating, I've hit most of my nutrient goals too!
 
Just got the MFP app, seems very useful!

Today I am at 1325 calories with 789 burnt, I am allowed 2720 apparently.
 
Just done 300 at the gym doing interval training! Back up to a respectable level.

It annoys me that you don't get any calorie reduction for weights? I did an hour this morning
 
Yeah I agree with you guys MFP makes dieting less of a chore, I quite enjoy scanning food in to see how many callories. Tell you what garlic bread is pure evil :eek:

Oooow!

Just done a new PB 5k on the treadmill. 24:47! Getting close to my best Road PB which I have never managed before.

My shins are already hurting, dread to think what they will be like tomorrow!
