2013/14 Pre-season Friendly Thread

Is Jesse Lingard at the club still? Thought we might see more of him after last pre season.

Would like to see Zaha come on and have Januzaj out left.

Is Hernandez on international duty somewhere?

Hernandez played the Confed Cup and is taking the time out. Kagawa opted to come back early from his holidays, I believe.
 
I really worry about our CB's. Evans is good but not great and Rio is getting old. Vidic is always injured and Jones/Smalling still have a long way to go.

The only issue we tend to have with CB is that it's rare we have more than 3 fit at any one time.

I think you are doing Evans a disservice there, too.
 
Indeed, Evans has been class the last few seasons in particular. Rio had a fantastic season as well. It is a cause for concern when you're trying to transition from the old guard to the younger players, especially in defence where you want consistency. There are other areas of the pitch that are much more of a problem though (central midfield and wings)
