I'm still not convinced by Smalling. Sometimes he looks great, a bit like a young Ferdinand but then he goes and commits some basic errors by misjudging things.
 
How unusual to see Smalling make an error like that.

Also, Welbeck and Cleverley have offered nothing. The lack of any threat from the left leaves us unbalanced, we're not overlapping on the right leaving Zaha having to beat two men and there's no one in the middle forward bar RVP.
All in all, I've not been that bored watching Man Utd since the last time I watched Man Utd.

Wigan with Martinez couldn't outplay most small teams, it's why they got relegated.

Its been hard since we lost Rafael on the right but yeah, Welbeck hasn't been brilliant. He does give us something but I'm not sure its enough for a place in the starting XI. Either Welbeck is a monster in training or Moyes is following Fergies advice on Welbeck.

I was going to say! I thought we played pretty well considering our recent form. We need to put some creativity on the pitch. Maybe Adnan if Kagawa is still below par.
 
It's a typical moyes style team performance, dont think utd will play attractive/exciting football with him in charge, but you'll win things with a fair amount of clean sheets.

He requested the change himself back to number 7.

A slightly unusual story has been doing the rounds at Old Trafford over the past week that Antonio Valencia is undecided about wearing the No7 shirt at Manchester United this season and might be willing to start again with a number that does not weigh so heavily on his back.
