2013 Powerlifting Totals

Why care? Right now im the only non natty that is really challenging for top spots and everyone knows anyway, at least everyone else in the top 4 or 5

In other news failed my 162.5 attempt so still have no bench to post, think i can knock it out next week, need to sort the lockout.

I still don't know how you go so heavy with such a wide grip, stupid strong. You'll make ridiculous progress going narrower.

Definitely some practice doing triples and doubles would be a good idea.

Tell you what i noticed m8, the bar wanted to wander up toward my head, couldnt keep the shoulders tight enough to lock into into the plane of force. I could feel how if i dropped my elbows in powerlifting style this wouldnt have been an issue the natural line of the bar would have been down and away rather than pivoting on my shoulder. I think im gonna plod on with this motion until i crack the 160 because im so damn close, a bit of speed work around 130-145 will sort the sticking point out but then im gonna need to address the overall form sadly.
 
Yeah it's incredibly hard to keep a tidy bar path with a wide grip. When me and Dom train wide, this is always the hardest part to deal with, and we're dealing with sub maximal weights which should be comfortable to control.
 
yeah its so much front delt, turns out my front delt overload capacity is somewhere between 150 and 160! But m8 it gives a silly strong chest i pressed the 162 to mid way like nothing but couldnt transition to the triceps much like how it happened at the meet, only diff is back felt stable so had the bar not wandered up i could have probs squeezed through. Hopefully I can get back up to 250 and above soon so it's slightly less stupid. My post comp training plan is so far mainly focussed on squatting though... oops!
 
Your squatting is so disproportionate to your deads - I love it! :D

i dunno bout that m8 in strongman the squat is usually up in the 4-500 kilo range and the dead only slightly higher, at least in a good squatter anyway. I dont think its strange to have these proportions, although clearly scott is far and away the best squatter on the board

Most top class strongmen have bigger deads than squats. A few now pull 400+ but not many squat over 400 at all I'd guess.
