Apparently LvG has taken Cleverly (who was captain) off in a friendly this evening as he doesn't want to have him injured for Man.U's first game in a few weeks time as he's going to be his permanent captain.

If I could hit you with your own ban hammer, I would. :(

Cleverley - garbage.
Nani - garbage.
Young - meh.
Kagawa - might as well keep him, handy player in a couple of positions.
Hernandez - can't really see where he'll fit in, Welbeck offers more overall.

The young players, Lingard, the defenders, etc, all look quite promising. Much rather see them getting chances, and we sign an experienced defender and better midfielder to further balance the squad, and so on.

Smalling has done really well in the second half.

Roma have had some decent players out there and they've not really had a sniff in the second half (yet). Lob aside, obviously.

Totally agree with that (although Kagawa might be better being part of a transfer for a centre half.....wishful thinking I know)

Wilshere the only Arsenal player looking awake, he's actually been really good. Most good pieces of interplay involving him, couple of good shots from moves he made.

Why we didn't take Afobe I don't know, playing without a striker will teach us nothing, how is this preparing for the season.

It's gone well really, highlighted obvious flaws, but we still got the win and played quite well overall, all things considered.

Both their goals were far more luck based than ours, too. :p

The best thing about tonight's game.....Utd scored 3 in 45 minutes where Liverpool couldnt score any in 90 a few days ago :D

Liverpool really need to sign some good players this window. They have added plenty of depth but lost their best player by a country mile and not come close to replacing him yet.
