*** 2014/15 Pre-season Friendly Thread ***

6-1 now - Ade with a penalty. Sounds like he's not been upto much today but given that he had malaria not so long ago I'm just glad he's out there :-)

lamela. the new bale
The way he's played in the last few games has impressed but I wouldn't read much into it, it's encouraging but nothing more.

Considering how little impact he made last season, he's basically a new signing. Fingers crossed he can deliver now he's had a decent pre-season.

To be fair he struggled to settle then broke his back in December and that was that. His all round demeanour and play seems much more positive (much more active on twitter/Instagram as opposed to nothing last year) - could be a very big year for him :-)

aahhhhh, Sanogo is so terrible. He's been in behind three times, but two passes and one semi cross ball rather than shooting and all three terrible. Misses a not easy chance there but he didn't look close to scoring at all.

So fed up with preseasons, rather than playing a semi proper team and adding 2-3 youngsters in, it's half youngsters, some who deserve a shot, some who don't and together as a team they rarely look good.

You've got Bellarin, Campbell looking good but Sanogo ahead of them is ruining everything that happens at the end of their moves.

This entire tournament format is worthless, two games two days. No one has played close to 90 mins yet as we've only had a couple of games so far, we travelled all over for no reason at all and we won't get 2 "proper" games this weekend. It will be two half arsed games with loads of changes at half time. We're going into this season without the first team having played together once. Loads of people copied the preseason tournament thing that the Emirates cup pretty much started, except they are all doing it as a proper cup, bunch of teams, games 3 days apart.

In terms of actually preparing for the season ahead, two half teams playing on consecutive days really does nothing for anyone. Fitness wise it's asking for trouble in anyone involved in both, and in terms of actually gelling as a team, splitting the first team across two games is basically worthless as well.

Wow.

First game in an Arsenal shirt and he has got his goal.

Who is this Bellarin person? I have never heard of him, but hes been pretty special today.

That was a damn good finish, the first two were tap ins, this was a great run and he did well to smuggle that in.
