Me neither, just a small cottage garden and a windowsill or 3.

Its okay, I have used neither a greenhouse or polytunnel for my chillies for the past three years. They have been very happy, at first in a propagator, and then on a sunny windowsill.

i didnt even bother with a propagator, just straight into compost in a pot on a window. when they were big enough split them out in to separate pots.

I only just discovered them when I was looking for some Habanero seeds.

Little sod pulled them up and ate two completely including roots. The other "survivor" is just a stem and a little bit of root.



At least they haven't worked out how to open the mini greenhouse to get the big two..

i didnt even bother with a propagator, just straight into compost in a pot on a window. when they were big enough split them out in to separate pots.

As neil mentioned you don't need a propagator and could get away with either a warm windowsill or put the pots into a sandwich bag to help maintain humidity.

If you did want a propagator you can pick one up for a £5er tops.

I think you do, but you just don't know it yet! A very addictive hobby, but one which provides lots of health benefits:

They will be totally fine. As long as it is warm and sunny in front of the doors then it sounds ideal.

I picked up a heated prop from B&Q last year for around £10 on offer.

As long as the temperature in that place is a steady warm, you should be fine. In fact I might even go an get a couple of prop's while I'm out today

my perlite and chilli focus have arrived. treats for my (remaining) plants this weekend

got a shed on route too so a DIY lean-to greenhouse will follow after that.

I still have a lot of chilli focus from last year, if I recall one full cap makes a two ltr of mix. Going to B&Q shortly to get some new compost and perlite.

What compost will you be getting from B&Q? Is any stuff good?

I've always used standard multi purpose compost with some sand and/or pearlite mixed in.
