Don't see why Russia can't nick a win here, on another day Italy would have scored far more than just the two goals against this Brazil team.
 
I think they probably bottled it a bit in the Euro's as well, I remember after the first game they were being tipped as tournament winners. :o

Their work rate today has been top notch.

Oh please everyone with even half a brain cell knows it wasn't footballing reasons which saw Rio out of the squad in the first place and given those circumstances no professional at the level Ferdinand is at is going to simply accept he misses out because the manager would prefer to take the person who he believes racially abused his little brother.

I'm not saying Ferdinand is innocent in all this because I dont agree with how he's allowed the situation to be left, once Hodgson came running back with his tail between his legs he should have either publicly said **** you or alternatively joined up with the squad as requested and played, as it is he did neither one thing or the other meaning the story is just going to rumble on into the summer and the next set of international fixtures...

If I remember correctly, Ferdinand was out of the England squad before Hodgson got the job. As above, it was obvious and understandable that Hodgson was only ever going to pick one of Ferdinand or Terry but there was plenty of reasons why Ferdinand may not have been picked before it came to that.
 
Enjoyed the Brazil game last night. It was very cold and a nice atmosphere.

For all their attempts at intricate passing Brazil did not look like scoring until they were forced to go for it after Russia scored. The Russian goal was amusing with the number of attempts they had before the ball finally went in. It was the highlight of the evening. Brazil were quite disjointed at times but I think we can put that down to the cold. Russia are now very solid since Capello took charge. Brazil show lots of potential but still have a way to go before 2014 but they will be quite a force in the finals.

Well it's only taken 7 years but it seems we're finally at a time where England have a big game and the manager has seen sense to be playing Carrick in midfield over the old lion-hearts Parker and Barry
