***2014 Powerlifting Totals Thread***

More PB's, did 135 a few weeks ago, and got 137.5 the other day. Almost hit 230 on the deadlift too, but couldn't quite get it locked out. So...

Darryl_1983 ------- 137.5 / 170 / 220(s) ---------------- [95] ----- 527.5

bakes0310 -------- 70+ / 147+ / 180 -------------------- [82] ------397

Bench and squat has gone up, very pleased with bench going up steadily for the past 4 weeks now.
So close too 400, I can almost smell the cowpat...this would be moderately amusing if you knew I was on the madcow program.

Finally got my 230kG deadlift, I managed to lift this about 5-6 years but after a few health issues and not training for a couple year, then easing back into it, I've been along way off for some time.

Darryl_1983 ------- 137.5 / 170 / 230(s) --------------- [95] ----- 537.5

That's 52.5kG increase this year so far, so looking good for my 550kg total by December.

Need to work on my squat technique/form, as I keep leaning forward at the bottom of the lift to try and get plenty of depth. Once this is sorted my squats should go up i reckon.

Sergei said not to deadlift so I only did a little but it was sexy and easy so casual PB after yesterdays PBs :D can't wait until I get to go all out :D

reiyushin ------------- 140 / 240(B) / 260(B) ----------- [93] ------ 640

Freefaller ----------- 150 / 190 / 240 -------------------- [91] ----- 580

or

Freefaller ----------- 150 / 200 / 240 -------------------- [91] ----- 590

Depends on whether you think the 200kg squat was to depth or not. :)

Either 50kg improvement or 60kg improvement - either way very happy. :)

Wilks sccore:

Freefaller ------------- 91 -------------- 580 ------------- 368.242

or

Freefaller ------------- 91 -------------- 590 ------------- 374.591

Nice improvement over my last one: 340.2988  Not quite at 400 yet though, but that would be a heck of an effort.

Nice lifting there. The 200 looked the same depth wise as 180. I especially liked your deadlifts (and dat double over hand one), they're what I struggle with the most, lockout is nearly always an utter grind for me, so I've been working on the last 2/3 of the deadlift from the rack and it seems to be helping me. Do you do anything to assist your lockout? Or does your lock out get worked just from deadlifting?

I've literally never done any of those, and I'm sure it's no coincidence that I can't freely tense/move my glutes the way I can with my chest or hams/quads and so on. Also, the bottom of my lats/origin point and erectors get cained when I'm doing deadlifts, have any idea why they're getting hit so hard? Could that be glute activation related too?

Oh I also meant to ask, are you latest lifts getting close to your life time PBs? If so, it's looking like you'll be smashing them soon :p

Sexy deadlifting FF, very jel. I really hate deadlifting I just cannot produce any power that low down, my t-rex arms make me so scrunched up it feels like trying to produce power while being stuffed into a suitcase. I have the opposite problem to most though generally if it get's passed my knees I'll lock it, but getting it off the ground is bloody hard.
