2016/17 Pre-season Friendly Thread

Woodburn and ings doing well in pre season hope it continues, worryingly our center backs seem to be picking up knocks all ready which is not a good sign!

Yea, I noticed the other week that we seem to be playing a lot of games but I was thinking about it again yesterday and in reality does it make any difference? Had we not been playing these games the players would have been training anyway and pre-season games, in particular the earlier ones, are pretty much just fitness sessions anyway.

Hopefully Liverpool get off to a flyer with plenty of fit, match sharp players. If some other teams struggle to get up to speed Liverpool could be 6-9 points ahead of some of their rivals by end of October.

Everyone knows that pre-season games are almost entirely pointless beyond:

Bit of fitness which you can do anyway

Bit of match sharpness but most of the games are played with non 1st XI players and the pace is languid to say that least.

Promotion of the team in another country

The risk of injury to your players.

I thought you were a City fan for some reason MisChief

Perhaps Mischief is. I wouldn't know.
