2020/21 Sack Race

Can you imagine if Everton went for Rafa
A fair few Evertonians were open to the idea a few years back and I'm certain he'd join them. A particular quote of his will be brought up quite a lot if it were to happen though.

There's a few reports saying Everton are interested in Gerrard too but I can't see that happening.

Yeah I doubt Stevie G would want to leave Rangers right now, he's doing well with them and I think he'll want to enjoy the success for a bit longer.

Rafa quotes aside, he'd probably be a good fit in all honesty and he'd be up for it with his home being in the merseyside area.

It's difficult to be too critical of Carlo leaving Everton but it doesn't feel right the way he's signed up to the Everton project, been allowed to spend a fortune on his players and then he does a runner.

Maybe he will take that turd James back to Madrid. I agree onlya couple of weeks ago he stated...

"This is good publicity for me to be linked with Real Madrid but it is not true," he said. "I am really happy to stay here.

"We have difficulties of course, but I feel good at Everton and my target is to make Everton better and better every year."

Finally they said he was going to be tested building his own team, he failed, He spent millions and finished 10th, with shocking home form. Honestly I don't think Everton fans should be too sad to see the back of him. Far cheaper options to help them get 10th year in year out.

I think Gerrard would leave Rangers, just not for Everton. He ultimately wants the Liverpool job and managing Everton would pretty much kill any hope of that happening in the future.

Agree about Benitez though. He's somebody that could work with those players and like you say, his family remained on Merseyside even after he left Liverpool.

I'd completely forgotten about him! I was in favour of him coming to us in the past. It's just annoying it's going to be another season with another manager where we flounder around trying to get everything to click into gear. I was hoping for a bit of stability with Ancelotti.

I think acquiring Ancelotti in the first place was a huge coup in itself, so kudos for that. However it was never going to be long term, was just a matter of time.

There's always ZiZu or Conte ;)

Especially how well David Moyes has done with a similar type of club and budget. Don Carlo has gone down a lot in my book.

Perhaps the idea of building a team is just too much effort for him!

Ultimately he would have been judged as a generational manager if he could have made Everton a top club again. Akin to people like SAF and Brian Clough.

He's won the league in England, Italy, France and Germany and has 3 European Cups as well as a whole host of domestic and European trophies to his name. He's already one of the most decorated managers in history and now has the chance to add to his collection at Real, something he realistically didn't have at Everton.

He has already managed at Real......

Would it though?

Graham managed Arsenal and Spurs, Bruce managed Newcastle and Sunderland, rednkapp managed Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth.

I don’t think it totally counts you out of the job.
