2020/21 Sack Race

I honestly am not bothered in the slightest. When he signed people on here where saying he had never built a team, not that he hasn't been a great manager but he wasn't getting anywhere at Everton. His home record was pathetic, he's lucky the fans weren't there. 10th in the league after what he spent, if he didn't have the Name any other manager would have got the sack.

He finished 10th despite us looking good for top 5 with games in hand. He couldn't get any fire in the side at home and we barely got over the line in plenty of away games. He can manage superstars, he can't train them or get the best out of lesser players. With the backing he had I'd fancy any of the duffers we have had in the last 6 years to have finished higher than 10th this year. If he lasts 12 months at Madrid I will be amazed. Not the sort of manager Everton need and I hope we don't do this kind of thing again.

Biggest surprise for me in all this is Madrid even considered him for the job. Have they finally got through everyone once and now going to keep going over old ground?

Big Dunc for manager! cannot be any worse...
also how is Godfrey not in the England squad.. 4 rb's and players not even match fit in the squad.

two former Everton managers in la liga's best teams, lol

Gotta be Eddie Howe to Everton surely. I've been saying for years that's exactly the sort of stepping-stone (no offence) position he needs before he can make the jump to a top club / England.

Seriously? He pretty much invented RB Leipzig. I think he could be a choice that fits a club like Everton, he would need to be in charge of everything though. He's at his best when he is a manager and DoF combined. If someone else is in charge of transfers then he's not a good choice imo.

Everton are now being linkied with Ralf Rangnick!

I've never heard of him.:o

High pressing manager who expects higher levels of activity out of his players than Everton have been used to this season. Half of them might die. You should welcome a manager that might get them to have some fight and fire because this year they have been terrible and half interested.

I'd wager who ever they get in gets them higher than Carlo has next year. That's not to say I didn't like Carlo, I liked his attitude in interviews but he was not the manager Everton need.

You're right, the players had no interest in putting in any effort.

Sounds like the type on manager we need.

Indeed, I only heard a little bit of the radio last night but the one fan I did hear phone in wasn't bothered in the slightest Carlo was gone. He talked a great game but I can't think of any games this year where I watched them and thought they were playing great football and giving their all. Even some of the early season wins were lucky decisions. I think he realised he'd made a mistake and was too old to start being a manager to create a team.

The fans would not have put up with that home form. You're better off without him. Almost every Everton game people on here and fans of the team were stating how dire the football was. Leipzig manager sounds a great fit, I hope whoever it is it works better than this.

Everton football club getting sacked by Ancelotti, wonder if he did an Alan Sugar, and got all the Board, Players etc... around a big table, and just went, 'You're fired!', 'You're fired!', You're fired!.........

:D

Everton had a bit of a poor end to the season, so got overtaken by Arsenal and Leeds. They were only 3pts off the Europa Conference, so nearer to that than the team immediately below them. At the end of the day you finish where you deserve to finish, but it was pretty fine margins between where they ended up and what would be considered a decent finish of 7th, I don't think the league table flattered them in the end.

I still can't believe the Europa Conference is a thing. I thought you guys were taking the **** when I saw it mentioned at first. That is the last thing I would want as a borderline mid-table PL side. Playing 3rd rate teams from the arse end of nowhere in the middle of the week for poor prize money, 0 kudos and what I assume will be a detriment to your league form.
