Yep agreed. Anyone who earns more is automatically a capitalist rich pig.

People forget those earning signfiicantly more pay significantly more tax anyway.

Typical British jealousy.

Its simply politics of envy which is what the left is based on - stoking division for political aims.

Attacking those that pay the tax to fund the benefits system is just bizarre.

You see, I actually think higher earners should pay more tax not less so I disagree with you there, the US not an example I want to follow either.
They do already pay more tax. That’s how percentages work. There is a lot of jobs and investment abroad that is not coming here so hence can’t be taxed. The alternative we keep squeezing what we have left until that’s gone.

.....greedy exorbitantly rich **** are the reason we need to have such an expensive and vast benefit system in the first place.

Exactly.

The benefits system is long overdue a shake up, it seems easily played and encourages people to sit back and to sweet FA.

Suppose the stamp duty cut is helpful to the tune of £2500, wish it was increased to the 500k zone, that would have actually helped those down in Londshire and the SE where houses are silly.

Why would that be their problem? There are many people not willing to come to the UK because of the tax burden.
Then let them be someone else’s problem. Your contradicting yourself. On one hand your saying they bring in lots of tax money and you should be grateful for the crumbs you receive off the back of it, and the other your condemning people for wanting to tax these people more so that we generate more crumbs for the plebs. Your attitudes are staggering to people that understand what it’s like to be at the other end. Honestly it’s mind boggling.

I disagree. I am going to benefit massively from today's announcements, several £1000s per annum. Do I need any of it? No. I was already thinking of buying a 4090 so clearly I am not struggling.

Same here, that corporation tax cut puts loads of money back in my pocket...I'll probably just buy a nicer car.

I'd rather fund the NHS, but I'm not going to do it on my own.

I think it is very clear. There is a lot of money not here that we can’t tax because it is not attractive. High tax burden on what is here is not sustainable. Unless we grow the economy then we are going to continue down a path of ever increasing taxes in a self reinforcing cycle.

Well as long as you spend the money and dont save it then you are doing exactly what the tax cuts are being introduced to encourage...

Alternatively if you feel strongly donate the money to charity.. (not Nvidia lol)..

Our tax burden is comparatively low isnt it?

How much of that money ends back in the economy compared to millions of struggling people getting real term wage rises and spending the extra money in our economy rather than offshore tax havens and bank accounts?

It’s not here in the first place.

Indeed.

This is all fine and normal whilst people's wages struggle to keep up with inflation and they struggle to make ends meet:

Maybe, the executives and owners of all these massive companies don't need to have billions sitting in their pockets doing nothing, and should instead pay the people that work for them lower down on the rung a better wage. This would mean less crime, better general health, better mental health for everyone.
