This is why many dont want to have kids actually and i dont blame em

Me either. I don't want kids because they don't fit my lifestyle. I feel for those who can afford but want them. Or who think they'll have a **** future

My sister desperately wants kids. She's 33. But she's only just buying her first house.
Obviously not an ideal time to buy a house.
But she really wanted a house not a damp flat. I respect that. But time is ticking. Especially with what is likely an over valued asset.

If it falls through her mortgage offer will expire and they'll be stuck in that flat for years

This is a huge part of the problem. House prices in or near London are 3x elsewhere (for a normal house).

People could find much cheaper houses elsewhere, but people want to be near London because that's where the money is. Which is fine - but you'll pay for it.
It is not just london, Birmingham is also 2x more expensive then elsewere. not london prices but becoming so.

And look at places like Berlin and Amsterdam.. Infact, you cant even afford a house there. You're best bet are small 1-2 bedroom flats....

Tokyo? forget about it. New york? LOL the list goes on. It literally is a world issue problem. Not just london

yea i think you mentioned that in another thread. Buy hey, your sister is not on 25k right so she can easily downsize right? she aint struggling right?

btw that was a critism not to you and your sister, but to people here critisisng the rich 100k millionaires who have no problems.

10 years ago people on 25k salary wasnt struggling by your defintion and look where we are now.. Give it about 5-7 years and by your own definition, 100k salary si todays 25k salary.

But yea lets just continue the trend and not worry about the downsizing at the 100k mark and brush that off the side and wait until 100k people will struggle to put food on there table

The country would collapse long before people on that sort of income are genuinely struggling. It won't happen.

The reality is you can live well on a much lower salary - but people are choosing not to because they want a house in an expensive area - that seems to be the crux of it.

Throwing around the names of large cities is not really helping your point. Live somewhere else.

Those that favour unchecked mass immigration need their desires checked against property availability and rising house prices. With over 1100 mainly single, young, low or unskilled men being landed EVERY DAY in Dover, what effect might their housing needs have on property prices and the general cost of living? These hundreds of thousands of people are not, in general contributing to the economy, in fact they shouldn't be here at all, they only benefit charlatan lawyers misusing laws written long before this epidemic of economic migrants became a reality.

Meth really is a strong drug isnt it. Where can i donate to people earning 100k who need my assistance?

They have partly made thier own problems.

Her partner bought a badly leased flat. So they've struggled to sell. It.
They want to live well within Birmingham which obviously raises prices.

She's only just got a new job so they can only recently afford something kid friendly.

But it is their choice to want to live so inside the inflated house price area of Birmingham

There isn't really a debate here. If you are on £100k you are in the absolute top % of earners - this is a factual thing. The vast majority of people are not on anywhere close to that.
There is really, it just got hijacked.

What ignited the conversation was the discussion regarding the current tax rules between £100k & £120k, which are very unfair and hopefully being revised.

People saying "**** you, you've got plenty anyway" isn't very constructive or fair, as you can see from the way the conversation evolved from there.

It's a very British mentality, you can see it everywhere - random example being any strike that's announced, the first thing people do is ask how much the striking workers earn, and a sympathy card is or isn't written in that basis.
