Jesus wept, the imf are wading in now, this is mental

Could be a uturn in the making, which surely, would mean a snap GE (although you never know with the Kippers) and Labour would walk it.

It couldn’t be any worse for the Tories could it? I smell burning Kippers :D and too right. Our cats would have done a better job using that “a or b what bowl do they eat from?” technique they use to predict football results.

What a national embarrassment. I’m sure they will still have their fans but folks, how myopic can you be! It’s been said since 2016, but Farage‘s coup is hopefully finally falling apart. I just hope lots of people recognise how much the Kippers have taken the wee out of them.

Clearly loads of melts in here though TBF. My first mortgage was fixed at 6.75%. There seems to be a sense of "we shouldn't have to live like this" self entitlement nonsense, as if everything should be rosey, all of the time. Man the **** up.
The level of consumer debt has doubled dude, it would be cataclysmic in our stagnant economy for such high interest rates.

Look if the economy, financial system, housing market was run remotely for the average working Joe then if people get in a mess, blame them, but years go by and at some point people have to try and build a life. You can't blame them for trying

I'm a boomer or near with no mortgage and a decent house, but I sympathise with people just trying to get along.

I know :) if even the IMF tell you to stop mucking about and your own party are rebelling and you’ve not formally committed I think that's their out. Plus it’s Truss who has uturned so much she’s just going around in circles:D i will expect something like “the (ex) chancellors statement last Thursday has been deliberately misinterpreted by the media” etc etc or more seriously “since we’ve seen the OBR figures we are concerned about the impact to the domestic mortgage market which was unforseen”

I”m alright too mate, plus get (or pending a uturn don’t) decent extra cash. Mine went higher than 6.75 at some point. That‘s not the problem though. There is no need to clap at a pile of doggo just because you didn’t step in it (in this analogy, the tories are the dog and the economy is the doggo). A crap idea is still a crap idea.

eta - you big jessy

Chris Wilson has often intimated that he sees non-white people as inferior. It's not a huge step to think he sees some as sub-human. Especially when he refers to someone as 'a black'. How am I fishing? And what am I supposed to be offended by?

We're also talking about someone complaining about others talking about culture when he himself wants to 'preserve' 'his' culture. Somewhat ironic, don't you think?
Personally I haven't seen evidence of that. If so feel free to report it, otherwise all I can see is you casting aspersions.

And how much was that first mortgage? You don't have to be specific, just a ball park figure will do, because average house prices today are £286k so if yours was less than that 6.75% meant a lot less to you than it does to someone with a mortgage now.

Then there's the fact that average house in the UK currently costs more than eight-times average earnings whereas from the end of the WWII to around 2001 it averaged around five-times average earnings so if your first mortgage was taken out around 1970 or 1980 your 6.75% meant a lot less to you than anyone who's taken out a mortgage in the last 20 years.

if they U turn now they are going to need to call an election as they will have lost the confidence of what ever sane part of the electorate is left in this country or at the very least Kami Kwarteng and his handler Truss will have to step down. They both pushed this as the solution and the only way to stimulate growth so if they u-turn now is basically means they were both full of **** and no one should ever beleive another single statement either of those clowns puts out ever again. I think they may have just ****** themselves over this.
