This burn in after only a matter of months am seeing pictures posted of on these new QD-OLED panels is getting me a bit worried as i bought the sony QD-OLED A95k TV

Mrk also had burn in on his alienware QD-OLED monitor

Max brightness for only 4 months should be nothing as a TV should last 10 years or more

I appreciate people want OLED monitors, but it's a fact they have burn in, so using it for a PC is going to cause burn in due to fixed elements.

Exactly. When you look at that "burn in", it's obvious that someone has had browser threads open for hours on end. I just can't get my head around why anyone would do that on a TV that has cost them £1000's, it makes no sense. Either they are stupid or just have no comprehension of how to use an OLED TV.
Then to admit that that he had used at "HDR max brightness all the time" tells me he is both stupid and has no comprehension how to use an OLED.
If i was the company he was attempting to make a warranty claim against, i would call it "user abuse" and reject the claim.

In the monitor thread it's also mentioned that he disabled pixel shift and ABL as well so it's hardly surprising.

Personally, I wouldn't want pixel shift on any screen. I understand why it exists, but it's a little obnoxious.

Yeh, wouldn't dream of using mine as a PC monitor, that's what I've got an ultrawide IPS monitor for!

Have you ever even had it it enabled ? I guess not. When you do have it enabled, it's not noticeable at all. But what it does 100% is save your screen. It's there to be used and you would be stupid not to use it.

I didn't like the black lines that appeared at the sides of the screen. I have no problems with burn in, though. I don't use my TV repeatedly for the same static content.

What are these Q-OLED like on bright rooms, still a bit unsure about the whole burn in as well using it with a console for a long time.
The Samsung QN95B also looks good.

Dam the picture on my sony A95K OD-OED looks so good it making me want to get rid of my 65AF9 OLED and buy another A95K OD-OLED to replace it

Might as well wait until next year, I know the SOC is being replaced so that it will have 4x HDMI 2.1 ports

It's useful for using as monitor, but otherwise I'd agree.

Perfectly fine in a bright room. Obviously you lose some of the OLED benefit but other than that it's perfectly fine.
If your room is always going to be bright and you don't plan to watch movies etc in the dark then you still maybe better off with a decent QLED

Just really varied use.
Probably 50% general daytime TV, 25% PS5, 25% Movies.

I got the 55 inch direct from Samsung, the price seems to vary day to day but for me, trading in an old 37 inch Sony LED, it was £999 with a 5 year warranty. It arrived a couple of days ago and the picture is great, always used with Sky and the odd app but no gaming and I'm very impressed and love the dark blacks from the OLED. The colours are madly bright on dynamic but with some of the more subtle/accurate modes its just a great picture.
