2024 OLED bonanza take your pick from dozens of new monitors

From what I've seen so far, I think my options are between the Alienware 27" 1440p 360hz, the AW 32" 4k 240hz, Gigabyte's 4k 32" (with the 24" 1080p toggle & the KVM) or possibly a second hand / used LG 27" OLED 1440p 240hz if it's a decent price.
I'd say the AW 27/360 is the pick of the bunch there, esp if it comes in at good pricing. 4 days to go!

The 4k monitors are appealing from a console standpoint - although the PS5 does still look great on a 1440p monitor. The downside for me to the 4k panels is the 32" size which is why Gigabyte's 24" toggle really appeals - but also just needing more grunt to push higher frames at that res. I play a lot of the Finals currently and if I uncap my fps I'm hovering at 250+ fps in the game at 1440p so staying on 1440p probably makes more sense for now.
Just a heads up I have the LG 27 240hz and I can't stand the coating they used it's quite aggressive. I would recommend any of the new options over it.

Hard the say at this point reviews are still pretty thin on the ground. Though from a warranty standpoint Dell seem to be leading the way with their tried and test 3 year burn in cover :)
I've had a couple of dell's was solid bits of kit, this with my Samsung has kinda put me off the brand

This might help. “Best” depends a bit on your requirements but this round up covers known specs and features as well as expected release dates

Which is the Best New 32" 4K OLED Monitor for You?
Thanks for that I'll give that a watch later

Personally I'm waiting for the HP because I want the kvm and powered USB C for my work laptop. The fact that they'll have a 3 year burn in warranty too is icing on the cake though I'm concerned it may end up being more expensive than the Dell. If that's the case I may go with the cheaper msi.
That could be handy for me as I use my work laptop and have a separate KVM switch and it's loads of extra cables I've had to hide in the wall.

I have 2x z27s at work seem very solid like the dell's

If AW3423DW release is anything to go by, they will be live few hours earlier - bought mine around 3 AM on launch day. These shouldnt go OOS imminently though so maybe there is no point.

Only recently bought a AW3423DWF (during the sales) but very tempted by the 32" Asus. I would need to upgrade my 3080 though, looking at the 4080S but will probably wait until the 5000 series and do GPU and monitor at the same time.

I just ordered 2 MSI 321URX's from OCUK... they will replace my Alienware AW3423DWF's. I just personally dont like curved monitors. I only got these because they were OLED. The AW3423DWF is a great monitor, it just wasnt the 32inch 4k monitor I always yearned for :)

Which of the new OLED screens supports eARC bar the Alienware 32"? I was leaning toward's it but wondering if someone could advise. Is there a downside to using my 4090 via DP port rather than HDMI 2.1 on this screen? Do you lose any features? I was thinking PC > DP, PS5 > HDMI 2.1 and a sonos Beam Gen 2 > HDMI 2.1 earc port, assumg this would allow the beam to pass sound to PC via DP and PS5 via HDMI?

PORTS

  • 1x DP 1.4 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3)(Supports up to 3840 x 2160 240 Hz, DSC, HDR)
  • 2 x HDMI 2.1 (HDCP 1.4 & 2.3)(Supports up to 3840 x 2160 240 Hz FRL, HDR, VRR as per specified in HDMI 2.1) (including 1x HDMI 2.1 FRL with eARC - to support Dolby ATMOS signal pass-through)
