2024 OLED bonanza take your pick from dozens of new monitors

I originally had an order confirmed for a LG 32GS95UE direct from LG but their online store seemingly exploded and the order was cancelled.

They recently came back with an offer of a discount of the newer model 32GS95UV (seems to be the same panel but downgraded speakers and a bit cheaper) so I went for it.

I've been using it since Friday for both gaming (Windows) and work (macOS) and impressed so far.

after hovering my finger over a3225qf for the longest time, pulled the trigger on this Evnia. Same-ish price, more features
First impressions
1. The QD-OLED purple elevated blacks are so exagerrated in reviews. I was worried, sitting with a large window behind me. Thought it would be a nightmare with glossy reflectons and purple hue. Not an issue at all. Even suspected this monitor doesn't have qdoled on first use.
2. Glossy is brilliant
3. Light silver design nice
4. Features wise it looks equal to MSI model
5. VRR flicker is very present and doesn't need much fps fluctuation at all. Turned off VRR imediately, will pretend it doesn't exist
I get no Flicker with Gsync.
Vesa VRR is probably inferior

If your with Nvidia under 3d settings in the drivers
Monitor Technology: G-sync compatible
Vertical Synchronization: Always on
make sure you click apply at the bottom right

Then under display in the same Nvidia Control panel for the drivers, where it says "set up G-sync" click that and make sure Gsync is enabled for fullscreen and windowed, and then scroll down to 3 Display specific settings and make sure the box is ticked
Click apply at the bottom again.

If you were already using G-sync you can check out VRR instead by turning off Monitor technology : G-Sync, click apply and then under vertical synchronization there should be 2 options for VRR.

For Me G-sync has no flicker on a 4090

Reckon any of these Gen3 panels might appear on BF sales? Getting close to pulling the trigger on the FO32U2P (well my wife is).....

Edit - well well well. I'm glad I told my wife to hold off, the monitor is £999 as part of BF.

AW3225QF is technically on sale it was 840 a few days ago now its 800, amazon are claiming its 19% discounted and it was 999.

I doubt any gen3 panels will see a discount when they clearly have stock of older monitors everywhere and there's unlikely to be anything better for a long time in 4k 16:9 etc

Some cracking Black Friday deals on 32” OLED 4k monitors so think it’s time to finally replace my 2015 34” ultrawide.

Any recommendation between the Samsung Odyssey G8 32” 4k and the MSI MAG 321UP 32” 4K QDOLED monitors as I’m trying to decide between them? Or is there another model worth considering?

Both are on sale for £800-900. Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated!

One question I did have about these monitors was regarding audio. I like the look of the MSI MAG U321p aswell but it doesn’t have speakers.

If a buy one without integrated speakers can I just plug a pair into the 3.5mm headphone/audio jack? Will that work with all the inputs HDMI/displayport/USB-C and automatically switch audio when the source changes?

doesnt your pc have a headphone jack on the back/front, most people use a usb dac these days though, I think even the tiny cheap ones are supposed to be okay

you know some monitors have 0 speakers and 0 audio pass through
I'd imagine most people don't need either apart from maybe HDMI e arc for soundbars

My pc has audio out so no problem there but I also want to connect my laptop and occasionally my PlayStation/Nintendo consoles to the display. So it would be pretty inconvenient if there weren’t an easy way to get audio from the monitor somehow.

Appreciate the USB DAC suggestion as I hadn’t considered that option for devices without speakers. Wouldn’t help out with the all games consoles though unfortunately.

I understand that most smaller PC monitors don’t have any sound. However IMO it feels like an oversight on large premium OLED monitors like these not including speakers?

This is the position I'm in too!

The Samsung looks very nice but the MSI seems to be very well regarded too!

IDK I've never owned a monitor that came with speakers.
The higher end stuff probably assumes you already have an audio setup, seems like everyone has an external DAC these days. you can get them for speakers too

£29.99 dac that works with all consoles https://uk.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-g3
I think there are tiny usb dacs that cost 5-10 quid too but probably not worth skimping, I recall a video on youtube claiming one of them were really good though.

oh wait it doesnt support xbox, a quick google suggests xbox doesn't have USB dac support

don't the controllers have headphone sockets anyway?
wiki says only the 2013 model controller doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack
and if that jack doesn't work update the controllers firmware

Fairly decent deal on the 32” ASUS 4k 240hz QD-OLED, £1000 on OcUK, haven’t seen it that cheap.

It’s on the eve of new monitors being announced at CES in Jan, but those might not be out for another 6 months.

Has anyone here got the Asus monitor? I'm really tempted at that price, particularly because it has one of the best reviewed cropped 24.5" modes.

It’s pretty cheap for what is rated, by most reviewers, as the best 32” 4k OLED monitor on the market. Hard to consider anything else if you’re after a 32” 4k display and are comfortable with the price tag IMO .

Personally I’m holding out to see how the 27” version due in January fares as I think 32” is slightly too large for a monitor.
