2080ti cards failing ?

Seems as I thought that now nvidia NDA is restricting content, Steve said he had to stop because he got an email sayng teardowns are no longer allowed. O_o says about 20 mins in.

Do you remember him few months back having spent a whole video justifying why he signed the NDA and shouldn't change his process on reviewing?
Heh ironic. Now they cannot even report about the issues they have.

Can't be worse than the FX series :D
It is, at least the FX series worked.

I am having massive problems with Digital River trying to return my card for a refund. Thankfully an Nvidia representative, pidge2k, on reddit has been helping me. All I need is the return label so I can send it back to them and he said that they tried to call me yesterday (no call was received by me) and had sent me an email with an update. So I check my emails and they sent me a generic email saying "you'll get another email once your products have shipped" with a VAT invoice attached for the 2080 Ti with yesterday's date and no update or return label.

Does anyone understand this, have they got confused forgotten that I want a refund and instead are doing an advanced RMA and are sending me a new card? If so I think I will boil over with rage.

Probably because they didn't want people to realise how **** the cooler is before they parted with their money.

Nvidia should probably spend less money on keeping up appearances and screws, and maybe spend it on more thorough research and testing.

I spoke to a woman at the Digital River call centre, they don't know why I was sent an invoice email. She made sure the note said that I wanted a refund. She wants me to wait 24-48 hours for the email with the return label again which she promised would come. I thought you'd be interested to know she blamed a very high return rate for the new 'Nvidia product' for the delays which she said had been extended to 5-7 days. She wasn't very happy when I asked if they have a complaints procedure although I said she was good because she gave me more information more quickly than the others.

Indeed, the FTW3 metal I seen in jayz vid, has at least 3x the height of what is on the FE card. The fact nvidia changed to a fan setup from the blower is a lot misleading as whats underneath those fans is still very poor.

If its a issue with the cooling, does anyone know of a card that had a waterblock fitted failing?
It's a problem with the position of the GDDR6 modules. Too close to the VRM's so they get overly hot when under stress with limited to poor cooling from the stock cooler. The problem is mitigated slightly but the 3rd party vendors with their coolers. A water block should be the best cooling solution if the GDDR6 and VRM's are cooled properly by it. However likely that the base board design is defective and a large part of the failures.

I am in the middle of a new water cooling build and have the MSI Geforce RTX 2080 Ti Sea Hawk EK X on pre order. It could be months before this isssue with the RTX is fixed. Not sure what to do now as I need a card to finish my loop.
