2080ti cards failing ?

Unfortunately, my 2080 Ti FE is one of the failing ones. It's not artifacting but it's randomly crashing, this got worse over time until I got lots of illegal graphics exceptions and SM warp errors in the event viewer. Also, the LED would randomly go red during use before going green again. I put my 1080 back in and it's fine.

I'm in the process of getting a refund which has been granted to me. Unfortunately Digital River are extremely slow and I've been waiting since Wednesday to get instructions regarding sending the card back even though they said it would take 24-48 hours for them to contact me. I was just about to phone them when I came across this thread.
Are they paying for the return shipping I hope?

I'm now considering just getting a refund instead. I'm done waiting for this lot to send me a RMA.

Nothing new for us nutters doing WC tbh ;) I haven't even checked if the FE can be 'stealth' pulled apart to fit my EK block yet. Does anyone know?

My founders didn't have any void warranty stickers to remove. Im pretty sure i could put the cooler back on and nobody would be any wiser.

Would definitely be looking for manufacturers with 3/5 year warranties in light of the issues.

If I had £1200 to waste on a graphics card that is.

Look, we are on node change year, even without Ray Tracing, the longevity of those cards was short well bellow 2 year span.
And Nvidia has the history over the last 10 years, proving exactly that the worst card to buy is the last one before node change.

You are very toxic today, and this is a new low even from you.
Life is too short my friend to take everything seriously.
No, he is spot on and seems people are more interested in cards breaking and twisting the knife in the person who is unfortunate. Why are you even here? You and quite a few others in this thread have zero interest in the RTX cards and have made your point many times across many threads.

Give it a rest, what part of laughing at a guy worried his £1300 is lost is not serious?

Totally agree with the above^

Some people who have no interest in the 2080 Ti seem to be taking a lot of pleasure out of the misfortune of a few owners who have received faulty cards.

If a Don reads this perhaps they could close this thread as it serves no real purpose, faulty cards should be discussed in the owners thread by owners.

So now we have the " if you don't own a 2080 series card" police out in force?

I started this thread to make people aware of the possible issues...Many people will find it useful if about to buy one.

Saying that issues should only be discussed if you actually own one is ludicrous bordering on insanity.

You could have made the comment then left it at that but you and a few others seem to be taking pleasure in other peoples misfortune.

No I haven't...

Link? ( in this thread)

And again Just because I don't have one doesn't not mean the release is not up to critique.

Just stay in your 2080 ti owners thread with the other 34 members...

to be absolutely clear,i wasn't laughing at the people who bought these cards that failed,i said I had no sympathy,i was laughing at nvidia.

I noticed on one of the videos their 2080ti would run fine in 2 computers but failed in the 3rd pc everytime with BSOD when they tried to install the drivers so maybe there is driver installation problem somewhere for those having BSOD

The thread is valid, the posts that some of you are making isn't! Simple as that and not much gets me angry but reading some of the comments in here does boil my blood. I thought we were all enthusiasts, regardless of what is in our machines :(

First section is focused on the Turing issues, saying that having issues with 2 of their cards already.
Hardware Unboxed. This is the same channel that stated that the Maximus XI Hero couldn't overclock a 9900k when it had already been shown to be capable of going over 6GHz on exotic cooling and pushing a 9900k to the limit under water?
Yeah, I think i'll be waiting for a more reliable source of info before listening to a sensationalist, scaremongering channel.

I don't doubt that people are having problems, but I also don't for a second think that this channel doesn't love the clicks from the controversy.

I hope that if this is widespread that Nvidia will be proactively doing something about it for those experiencing the issue.

Well we have shipped nearly 500 units now on 2080Ti, not a huge amount due to the crazy shortages but so far we've not seen anything out of the ordinary returns wise on any board partner brand. Palit is our no.1 brand for units shipped, then Gigabyte, followed by Zotac. Saying that all the brands have no alarming return rate.

All I will say is I know AIB coolers are more effective at cooling as the FE cooler can get quite toasty from feedback I've heard.
Would be interested in seeing if any FE owners and AIB owners can share memory temperatures and memory VRM temperatures on their cards, could be a cooling issue causing the memory failure.
