Ive sent back 3 acer panels back same as yours and yours my friend is the worst i seen im sorry to say :( would certainly rma as not sure you could get worse then that.

RMA process has started. I've emailed photos and a video to the RMA address after emailing OCUK via a webnote. That was 08:12 yesterday and haven't yet had a reply, but the ball is rolling. Gutted, but I shouldn't have to put up with this on a £900 screen as Nexus18 said previously.

wow that is awful - not sure i'd accept that on a £200 monitor...

Yup, I have to say, high end IPS is not the premium panel tech I thought it to be. Whether this be IPS glow or BLB, it is simply not good enough for a £900 screen. It's not fair on OCUK either; I hope they get delivery costs etc. reimbursed from Acer.

That does look pretty bad. I can't even tell if the edges of the screen are black or not
Well, they're certainly meant to be black ha. If you notice in the far left bottom corner, there is a darker spot where there's less blb... that's really noticeable. The bleed looks worse in the photos, but I can notice it in all colours :(

Post here and hope that you get Bailey, he was great for me when it came to my 29um65's and backlight bleed.

Done, thanks. I understand it's a crappy situation for retailers, but it's worse for the consumer that has spent £900 on a product that is arguably not fit for purpose. If, after this, RMA is still refused, I'll have to get quotes for a courier to send it back within my 14 days, only 9 of which I have left. :(

No joy on RMA - refused as "not a fault". Now I have to decide if it's worth the faff/money of sending it back as an unwanted item...

Well that is a ******* joke... Absolute **** take and quite frankly etailers such as ocuk should be ashamed of themselves for selling faulty products. I have to laugh at etailers that say "bleed" is normal for IPS/UW monitors, it most certainly is not! Mine has zero bleed, my 3 dells have zero bleed and the countless other IPS monitors that I have seen over the years have zero bleed.

Thanks for letting us know anyway as I won't be buying any display from ocuk again in the future.

It's not the first time OCUK have screwed me over, not to mention several bans for the most absurd reasons. I'm probably going to send it back and buy from elsewhere in honesty.

I've replied and informed them that I will be returning the screen under the distance selling regulations and will be getting a replacement from elsewhere.

I'm genuinely shocked tbh as like I said Bailey was great for me when it came to my 29um65's and yours look just as bad, my second one iirc with a normal brightness setting and with lights turned on:

If that was acceptable for a RMA, then yours should be too, especially for a £900 monitor lol....

Who knows, perhaps due to 90% of the IPS monitors today being plagued with issues, they just can't afford to keep doing RMAs etc.

Oh well, ocuks loss and I imagine people reading your post will also now be put of buying any future monitors from ocuk if this is the service you can expect from spending nearly a grand on a single item....

Yeah that's the plan. I'm still out of pocket though, but I guess £15-30 is better than living with a £900 screen I'm not happy with.

Ahh no, read through the T&C. You have to pay your own postage. That's pretty sucky on such a heavy item.

Indeed, but I've sat and read it again, and their faulty returns included unsatisfactory quality:

30 Days / Acceptance Period
You are entitled to reject goods if they are faulty (do not match the description, are not of satisfactory quality, or are not fit for purpose). You have up to 30 days to check the goods and contact us if there is a fault. You can decide to claim a full refund or request a repair/replacement.

If you are returning for a refund, please include all packaging, cables, manuals, drivers and protective bags. Accessories and promotional items are part of the order and must be returned to ensure a full refund is given. Free games codes should be unused and still hidden.

They're playing a dodgy game refusing RMA on this one IMO.

However this turns out, I feel for the guy who's going to grab that 'B-Grade' bargain, as although the pictures make it look worse, it does look bad. Blacks should at least be near to black.

It does when you get a old monitor and it beats the new ones hand down. This is a 10 year old TN. Taken in a pitch black room, so much better in a normal lit room.

Bailey has helped me out, so I'm appreciative of that. It's going back as an unwanted item, but they're covering the collection as a good will gesture. Whilst it's good of them to do so, it should have been an RMA issue from the start.
