OK so I got myself a 1080 to go with my x34, but after putting it in all my games now seem to have a blurry look to them , yet when I was using a 1070 I didnt have that issue , is there something I'm missing please ?

thanks :)

The 29" 2560x1080 screens are one of the few monitors priced "correctly", more so when they around the £250 mark, which I think ocuk do quite often.... Especially since the IPS panel being used is one of best for IPS i.e. a high contrast ratio (the highest I've seen for IPS at around 1200/1300:1), low input lag (you will need to check reviews etc. on this though, a lot of the monitors despite using the same panel can range from very low input [5-10ms] to high input lag [20+ms]) combined with decent pixel response rate + the lightest anti glare matte finish with a decent PPI of 95 to give a sharp looking display.

Generally the only complaints people have with a 2560x1080 29" screen are:

- the physical height
- the 1080 vertical res. (which imo isn't an issue at all unless you are someone who just has to have 4+ windows opened at the same time in every corner of screen.....)

Had mine less than a week and already I know I would not want to go back to solely 16:9 monitors. As you say the slight loss of vertical (~1cm) is all I miss having come from a 24" 16:9. Makes my next monitor purchase a difficult one. 1440p ultrawide or 16:9?

35" 1440p ultrawide is amazing, so much screen space, its enormous!

No complaints from me for ikea stuff.

If there are any wobbles then it is the monitors stand that is crap, of which most of the 21.9 monitors stands are crap....

Good article on IPS VS VA, pretty much confirms what most enthusiasts should already know:

21.9 for life for me, I rather have a lower res. 21.9 over a higher res. 16.9 screen any day of the week.

Saying that, you could get a large 32+" 16.9 4k screen and just use a custom 21.9 res. but then you would have black bars on the top and bottom.... This is what I will be doing whenever I get an OLED 55" 4k HDR TV.

Anyone else ultrawide monitors have a slight side to side wobble when using on a desk, just noticed when typing and if desk gets used it wobbles?
i was going to suggest a vesa desk mount but if the desk is wobbely its not going to help, you could fit a vesa arm to the wall if thats the case.
im using a ergotron mx on my lg 38uc99 and that a big arsed monitor and have no problems fixed to my argos desk

Yeah Westie DP, ..I had to reset the Monitor with OD set to normal and after that it was perfect :), but I'm thinking maybe there was something not right with the card it was getting very warm hitting over 80c , and that was only playing Euro Truck , so I sent it back .

I assume there is no such thing as G-sync 1440p 144hz ultra wide for around £700 is there ? I am in a market for new monitor for games to pair with my 1070 and looking at the 16:9 Dell gsync 1440p...but the wideness is interesting...

I get 145 fps in BF4 , the division i get around 90, project cars around 90, tittanfal 2 around 100,with my X34 ( B-Grade £500 ) all settings on ultra , but the bottom 3 I have set to Off...cos they seem to just suck the frame rate and do nothing else when on.

Interesting idea. Unsure if I could live with not using all the screen estate for day to day usage as my brain would niggle at me that I have more height and pixels available! But definitely an option for gaming assuming its not much hassle to support the custom res.

AOC Agon AG352UCG does 100Hz at that res and can be found for £720. That's the best you can do atm (the Acer Z35P will be doing 120Hz with the same panel but I reckon it'll be £900+ when it hits retail soon)
