Enjoy! I love mine and it made one hell of a upgrade from my Dell. :D

Its a great monitor unfortunately the one I received has pixels lighting up all over the monitor at random but consistent in the spread, faulty basically.

I will be returning it the only problem is they are now out of stock :(.
The only monitor worth replacing it for is the Asus ROG swift Gsync but thats now gone up by another £100.

Grr

If any of you with a LGUC98 have this sort of pixel issue make sure to post back here so we can see if its a regular issue.

I imagine a lot of people might not notice this but it is clearly an issue.

Ok so lovely monitor, looks amazing, it's ****** huge!

However, when I fire up a game the image keeps cutting out and going back, then it will flick back for a second, then go black again.

I read that switching to 8bit colour fixes it, but not for me.

Help :(

Ok, so far worked out that freesync doesn't work when the monitor it set at 60hz. Only works when set to 75hz.

However it will only play games at 60hz with freesync off, otherwise I get this issue:

Although mine is more severe than his.

This is really annoying after spending over £700 :mad:

What do you guys think of the LG 34UM68? It's a 34" IPS, with 1080p.

I had to return a Z35 earlier this year, as I was disappointed by the image quality.

I was looking for a 1080p IPS screen that would be OK/good for gaming. This one looks pretty good. What do you think? (It is so cheap as well!)

34UM68 is not high refresh. Normally you want high refresh for 1080p screen, otherwise you will be wasting power of even modest GPU. Also its flat and flat & large UW screens tend to place corners way too far (not to mention very pronounced IPS glow).

However, 144Hz IPS 34UC79G should arrive soon and it looks much more promising judging from early reviews. I am also looking at its direction exactly for same reason I had a disappointment with Z35's "paper high refresh".

Are you using freesync @ 75 Hz ?

We've got the same gfx card and virtually the same monitor - perhaps i can assist

I think that issue is when you are dropping in and out of the freesync minmum.

Try the settings and driver i'm using ( same 390X card as you ).

Driver ;

Global Settings ;

Display Settings ;

Windows Display Settings ;
npgHRH8.jpg

LG Monitor Driver;

and make sure Freesync is turned on in the monitor settings

This is how i've set mine up and i get no black outs when dipping in and out of Freesync range ( just a slight in-game frame stutter which you would expect )

I can't imagine that 1080p at 34" widescreen would give you the image quality you are looking for due to pixel density.

LG do a 29" widescreen at 1080p which would look better

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

I hope you can get it replaced quickly as it truly is epic!

Have you modded the freesync range ?

No, it's done within Windows.

Thanks for your help Brizzles. My settings were the same as yours, but I managed to fix it by notching down to 6bpc colour depth. Not ideal I guess but at least it's working for now.

I'm looking at getting the LG 34UC88 (curved) to replace my 2 monitors (Dell U2515H & Cheap BenQ) and have a couple of questions:

Have only had a quick read on freesync but do I need to maintain a frame rate between 55 & 75fps for freesync to work?
My current games I average about 90fps so I guess I would have to limit the fps to 75 or am I wrong?

Also anyone find any issues in photoshop with the monitor being curved?

cheers.

Don't know about the photoshop question, but your thinking on the freesync is correct. You can limit frames in Crimson as per Brizzles post above.

I have heard some people have managed to extend the freesync range lower, but not looked into myself yet
