***21.9 Ultrawide Thread***

I`ve just set up my iiyama 34 prolite xub3490wqsu.
I have to say Im pleased with colours and vibrancy of the image, and 75hz via DP 1.2 is superb for gaming. All in all for £480 (from OCuk) you can`t go wrong.

I didn't like my 34" 3440 x 1440 monitor at first because it felt too big for my desk, now i have had it a few weeks i love it, wouldn't ever go back down to 2560 x 1440 or 1080p, my only move forward would be 4K but unless i want a 40" screen, it's not worth it yet.
I feel the same. The drop down now is impossible:)

I've been toying with the idea of going from my 27" Swift PG278Q to the 34" Swift PG348Q but i'm not sure i'd miss the higher refresh/respsonse rates of the TN panel?

Has anyone else made that jump?

A part of me wants a larger screen rather than going down the multi-screen setup.

One last thing, how many games actually support 21:9?

My 21:9 choices would broaden a lot if I could run games at the levels I like at 3440x1440. Skyrim SE with all my mods can't do 60FPS all the time at 1080p even with a 980ti :(

I finally gave in and bought the X34a (was going to get a 27" originally) it was treble my original budget and only have one regret.... why didn't I buy one sooner.
Just a shame the stand takes up too much room.

Here's hoping that the Samsung version is better for motion and out of the box calibration....

I really hope the samsung version is better too but the only thing they can really do is tweak the overdrive settings and i'm not sure how much that can improve it. The display is a VA which is inherently slow after all. Even so I'd still take it over the IPS superwides, its just a shame their wont be a gsync version unless Acer or Asus decided to make a screen with that panel

I'm in the same boat but would only consider making the jump to a VA screen as i can't stand IPS glow which is going to be an issue with a wide display. The jump from a very fast TN to a VA might be too much but i have no first hand experience myself.

I made the jump and when I broke my first 34" I thought about dropping back down to the 27" ROG but couldn't do it. Wouldn't drop down from 21:9 at all now. Great for multitasking and desktop use and gaming is just

a lot of games these days support it or with a few minor tweaks you can get older games running fine aswell. I can only think of Overwatch that doesn't support it properly but that's down to Blizzard being Blizzard.

I think games like overwatch and CSGO don't really support it down to them locking if for being an "unfair advantage" We are slowly turning into consoles. Thank the lord that we still have some developers who allow us to use our hardware.

Looking at getting the PG348Q since it's not over 1000 pound anymore but worried by the time I get the funds at the end of next week it will be back up to it's normal price :(

I feared this, so i've ordered mine, should be here Tuesday! I've seen the price else where for under £1000 for a while now. I didn't purchase it through that site as i don't trust their customer service especially with something like a Monitor!

The minute i saw they were under £1000 on OcUK, it was a sign for me to buy one lol.

I managed to get the funds together and ordered mine about an hour ago :)
