***21.9 Ultrawide Thread***

I got a Xenta Single Monitor Mount for around £50

This is a "Desk clamp" style, rather then wall mount - but for the same reason that the X34 + stand was probably a little much for my desk!

Its rated to 9Kg, which is more than enough, but I did really have to ratchet up the tilt adjustment to stop the screen drooping forwards!

Still, now its all set up and looks good, without taking over my desk :) Now if I could just get the on-order 1080 installed, I could really start to enjoy it!
 
How much more taxing is a 1440p UW monitor on my GPU? I know 4K is 4 times harder. but how much harder is 1440p and 1440p UW?

would my 390x (overclocked to 1120Mhz) max games on a 1440 21:9?

Does anyone know if these new revisions of the Acers (X34P and X342CK), and probably others like the forthcoming Dell and the Designo, use a new IPS panel? They all have a 1900R curve and as far as I know are overclocked out of the box so they probably handle overcklocking better. This may sound like a new panel to me.

It depends what sort of games you play i cant even max out on 290x crossfire at 1200mhz using 1440p. As an example if i set gta to 1080 and turn down some of the more demanding settings i get 150+fps, at 1440 i get 90fps and at 1440 UW i get 65.

If ya wanna test it just run firestrike or something at 1080 then turn up the res to the one you wanna try and see what difference in FPS you get.

You would need a couple of 980ti or greater to max out 1440 UW really, but you could always drop the settings if ya really wanted one.

In fact, apart from you have a black Air 540 case, I have a silver one - our set up is identical!

Glad the bracket works for you, can't wait to finally get mine on the wall. Just need the gpu to turn up.
