How do you find the comfort in this?

Every new Ford I've sat in just doesn't feel comfy to me, though I think I'm getting too used to race-bucket styled seats.

I had a new Ford F150 for a week a couple of weeks ago and that was supremely comfortable. And huge

19K isn't bad out of a pair of front tyres is it..? Not outstanding, but not bad.

I doubt the rainsports will last that long. Slightly odd choice for this kind of mileage no? Don't they wear really fast?

their a solid choice,

tried many different brands on the old mk4 and rainsports were far and away the best, can certainly see me getting 20k out of a set which is better than the factory fit primacys,

would love to try pilot sport 4s but you cant get them in a 235/45/18 yet

It depends how you look at it. I wouldn't say it's good for a car that's most likely doing mostly motorway runs anyway. I've had close to 50k miles out of a set of Pirellis (front and rear) on my 320d covering pretty much 90% motorway stints without driving like a bell. Obviously being RWD the rears wore more than the fronts on that and when I did change tyres, the fronts were still ok for a while but I did the lot at once anyway.

Considering the condition of the roads in Glasgow compared to elsewhere (terrible), it seems good to 20k out of the tyres.

Also nice thread! I hope it lasts another whopping 300k miles. What's the resale like on a 300k+ car?

Though this one is probably on 400K+ now. It was on 368K when it had its last MOT in December. Not sure why the ad says 350K.

I guess ex fleet cars could be bargains really, as they are generally well looked after?

another pair of front tyres,

back into the workshop on Monday for an overdue service (was due at 36k but I run half the interval so not really a major concern) set of front pads and I might just change the rear tyres as their getting low.

bumped into an old friend whilst getting tyres fitted today(tyre fitter is my good friend Gerry from RD Tyres who also bought my old bus

43k on mine now and honestly cant say a bad word against it, certainly as good as the equivilant german offerings albeit with the wrong badge,

my advice would be make sure you get one with the xpack which I made the mistake of not speccing

means full leather led headlights bodykit and 19s which makes it a much nicer car overall. really wish I had the LED lights on mine ;(

Collect mine next week. A 16 reg Impact blue Titanium 180. Cant wait, not a fan of leather seats so im not missing anything.

We've got a 65 plate Mondeo at work which I have tested quite thoroughly. Firstly, everything about it feels like it has taken a giant leap forward over the mk 4. The dash quality, interior styling and finish is very good indeed and the Sync 2 system is great. The ride is lovely and the steering is much better than the MK4s. I have three issues with the Mk5 Mondeo though:

- It feels very big indeed
- The headlights on full beam are absolutely atrocious. I am certain when I say I have never driven a car, old or new, which has such a poor full beam. Hopefully good bulbs will sort that?
- You sit quite low in it so getting out can be quite difficult.

Apart from that though, it is a very good car indeed and far exceeds what I would expect from a Ford Mondeo.
