28 Years Later Trilogy

Meh. I'll give it a go when it hit's streaming, but still don't think this should have ever been anything other than the first film.
The first one was groundbreaking. Walking through London, the bridge and not a soul to be seen - epic. And the zombies were genuinely terrifying.

I wanted it to be just the one movie as history tells us most sequels are cash grabs and ruin things, but ofc, you also want to see more of the world they have created.

Love the zombie genre, so really hope they can make something special!

I can only make out one name on the grave crosses at 00:39. I think it's this guy.

I don't know why his name is on a grave but either he worked on the film or the crew loved his previous work.

EDIT: The grave says Nick Egan died 33 years. If it is that Nick Egan then he was born in 1957. At age 33 that would make the year of his fictional death 1990. In 1990 he was working on the album cover for Deelite: https://thestrangebrew.co.uk/nick-egan-album-covers-1988-2015/
I've probably gone down a completely unrelated rabbit hole but I thought I'd see if there was an Easter egg in there. If it is, then it's probably just an album the crew liked his work on.

EDIT 2: It looks like he also worked on the INXS album cover in 1990: https://thestrangebrew.co.uk/nick-egan-michael-hutchence/

That is a banging trailer though, what is the premise of the film? As it looks like there's 2 human factions warring against each other and the infected. Hopefully further trailers released keep some of the mystery.

If you zoom in on this picture (where the crane is), you'll see a filming location for this trilogy. I believe this particular location is for part 2 though.

Awesome trailer - not seeming to give the whole plot away in 2.5mins

28 Days is one of my top 10 movies, 28 Weeks not so much, but am really looking forward to more Danny Boyle / Alex Garland movies!

Somehow 28 weeks later I think escaped me and I've never seen it. Good excuse to watch the original and 28 weeks back to back, in prep for this. :) The original was a classic.
I agree that the genre has been done to death though now. After the slog that was The Walking Dead, it's kind of put me off for life now! I did like The Walking Dead to be fair, just not the later series where it became too drawn out.
