No,

1) No apps, there is not that many for the iPad anyway, creating a 3rd resolution would be a mess.
2) Price, IPS panels are not cheap.

there are plenty of apps and you could very easily double the res of all your content for an updated ipad. most clever developers will be designing their original content at much higher resolutions anyway and simply downressing for the actual device, for future-proofing.

price, yes, I agree. but why not offer an iPad2R or something, that's £100 more but has retina? I'd buy that!

Funniest bit is everybody excited for dual core after they attacked me for saying that single core ARM chips suck and I wouldn't buy an iPad or iPhone until either had one.

People in 'being excited about something being made better' shocker?

What is your point?

My point is, like in the original thread I'm talking about, Apple fanboys think everything that Apple spit out is fantastic and can't have faults. Now that the dual cores in there, all they're going to rabbit on about is how innovative it is and how Jobs knew it was the right time to spoon feed them dual core CPUs. ********* basically.

This is absolutely the same as the old 3G to 3GS stunt they pulled. A couple of extra very minor improvements but basically the same thing. Disappointed! Won't be upgrading. Had they chopped some significant weight off it and added retina I'd have bought this at launch.

Shame.

I don't see any fuss with the screen resolution personally. All the current updates so far are good, be interesting to see UK prices though.
