Don't get the fuss over retina.... the standard resolution is the same across the board with all these tablets....

fuss is there because you naturally hold this device pretty close to your face, not as much as a phone but still close, and when you do you can clearly see the pixels. They introduced retina on the ip4 and it blew everyone away, and that was a long time ago now. It's just a shame that they decided not to push that through to a brand new product.

And in real-world terms it is somewhat of an issue for me personally, as when I present my work (CGIs, photos, animations etc.) to clients the image doesn't look as good as it ought to. That would be solved instantly with Retina.

It'll be there for the iPad3, sure, but that's another year away... shame.

This is absolutely the same as the old 3G to 3GS stunt they pulled. A couple of extra very minor improvements but basically the same thing. Disappointed! Won't be upgrading. Had they chopped some significant weight off it and added retina I'd have bought this at launch.

Shame.

It's a new design, added features (cameras, gyroscope), new internals, new OS update with new software apps = new device.

My point is, like in the original thread I'm talking about, Apple fanboys think everything that Apple spit out is fantastic and can't have faults. Now that the dual cores in there, all they're going to rabbit on about is how innovative it is and how Jobs knew it was the right time to spoon feed them dual core CPUs. ********* basically.

I see what you mean. Well, best you leave them to it though as not everyone is the same.

I don't like the sound of this 'guitar for dumb-non-musicians' lark. Guitar Hero should not allow people to actually play real songs.

15% I would say is significant (but then never had an isuue with teh original weight, it is no heavier than a Hardcover book), as well as hdmi, cameras who want it (doesn't interest me in the slightest), dual core.

Whats the rave for retina. The ipad screen looks amazing and from initial previews, it seems it'll still be better than the first android tablets.

Then you need to go to teh opticians...you can see teh pixels?..its THAT clsoe to yoru screen, I havnt seen one person mention this, even text is damn good for the distance ya use it at!

You show yoru clients images that are important on teh iPad?....thats jsut a mistake period.

lol. No screen looks as sharp as an iphone 4 screen... the ipad is quite comparable to any pc monitor so not sure why anyone would moan about being shown images on it...

Besides, no other device boasts a significant resolution advantage so Apple have no reason to upgrade it yet.

Spec page says its the same resolution as the old iPad. So hope no one has there hopes up

If it was a big surprise, then it would take all of 15 seconds to change the spec page after it was announced.

Not that i am saying it is a big surprise but the best way to get someone excited is to make them think what ever they wanted is not happening and then suddenly it turns out it is happening. The same thing you do with kids.
