do you not think you should take the buy button off this offer now it shown 1 instock and just thinks its take the ****
**PROMO** Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (ST32000542AS)
Guess who forgot about this...![]()
I'd like to thank everyone who tried to take advantage of this offer today. Demand was incredible and with only 50 drives available at this special price there was always going to be more disappointed than happy people.
However, we did say we would offer 50 drives at £79 inc VAT and that's exactly what we did. Furthermore, we actually received 64 orders at the offer price and have decided to honour the special price for every successful order.
I can understand why some people feel disappointed that they missed out, but I'm afraid that's just supply and demand in action. To imply that this is somehow our fault is not being very fair.
Once again, thank you for interest in this offer![]()
They were in stock as 64 people can testifyI get why some people are moaning about the moaning but I think thats probably your fault for doing something you knew would be massively over subscribed.. I'm guessing you thought it was worth the publicity and extra forum memberships and whatever..
My frustration comes from never seeing the things even in stock and the fact the site fell over would suggest to me it was a pretty dumb idea and a good part of the order I was also making went elsewhere as a direct result of the site being down.. you guys do make some odd decisions sometimes tbh.

As to your last point it is always regrettable when customers take their business elsewhere but our on-line store was only unavailable for a few minutes due to the sheer quantity of people trying to take advantage of this offer. If that was enough for you to shop elsewhere then that is of course your prerogative.
Of course you don't have any hidden agenda here would you? Like working for a competitor for example?it was more the irritation tbh, I should have seen it coming a mile away and I was quite prepared to not get one I just figured it would have wound up being a lottery of who got the order in first ie would have had a chance to at least see them in stock. At what was a seemingly impossible amount of time after 1.30 your site was saying they were out of stock and then the site fell over. Very poor experience IMO and pretty badly thought out.
You do know what your registered email address is here? I won't reveal it but it's pretty obviously a competitor.Nope, I don't work for a competitor I work in the mobile industry and as a rule I buy my IT kit from you!

OK, I can understand that.I'm venting because I was surprised I never saw the things in stock and I need a new HDD!
OK, I can understand that.
I guess my frustration is I spend a lot of my time figuring out whether something is a good idea ie will I have enough stock for it (I deal with a big mobile phone company about a mile from your h/o) etc and I would have seen this a mile away... pre registering for a lottery or whatever would have been a better and calmer way to harvest customer data than having your site fall over and then have customers getting mixed results/stuck in checkout etc etc..
Just my 2p, no axe to grind tbh.
