2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-II HARD DRIVE - JUST £79 inc VAT

Great in NAS boxes incase nobody has made the connection, low heat and noise with the low power make them perfect as a storage drive with another as your main drive.

No chance, once deal/voucher sites get a hold of it, they'll be sold out by 1:30:15.

If the site holds up that is. ;)

Just spotted this 10mins ago on the Hotukdeals website, I would expect it to be on the moneysavingexpert website in a matter of hours (if not on there already).

Some speculation about the website crashing on there forums.

I was just coming back to link to that. ;)

More specifically this little baby: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-018-SY&groupid=1657&catid=1659&subcat=1239

Have the 2008 model with a 1TB low power drive in it, silent little box that handles all my downloading on a schedule im not in the house, hosts a website, acts as my fileserver and backs up my main machine automatically, acts as a FTP server, allows me to access my files at work and send larger files home without a pen drive....

The list of what I use it for is endless, NAS box + low power hard drive is the best purchase I have made PC wise in the last 5 years.

Our website survived the MSI P55 launch promotion so no fears from me that it will not perform come this offer. :)

Ok. linked my forum account with my store account now. And I finish lectures at 1:00pm on thursday! I just bought a 640Gb drive, heatsink, thermal paste and cleaning fluid from you guys. Why couldnt you of done this last week. would have saved me a bit on postage. Still never mind. Will give the postman a good work out. Cant wait for it!

Does LP in the name stand for "Long Play" :)))))
I am having an exam on 1.30pm Thursday. My only chance is writing an autobuy script :)

That is ideal though, 640GB Black edition I am asuming? If it is then that is one of the quickest mechnical drives out there and would pair very nicely with the 2TB Seagate.

The other obvious pairing is a 64GB-128GB SSD with the 2TB drive for your data.

LP = Low Power.

Our website didn't suffer any problems when we did the MSI promotion and nothing will be altered to change that.:)

Yemen has it spot on. The LP drives aren't necessarily the best for booting on but for pure storage (which lets face it a 2TB drive is generally used for) they are the best product available.

I use an SSD myself for booting but run my Synology with a tremendously large hard drive for storage so I've got the best of both worlds.

Got the Black Caviar. 32mb cache.

Seems a little weird to announce this so far in advance so your previous customers already on the forum have little/no/equal to total newcomer chance of getting one.

Any reason for doing that? Why not just mail existing subscribers on the day?

(Probably would not get one/want one myself but just curious)

No, there is no free delivery. For that price, it is criminal to complain about the postage

I'm not complaining, I am just asking if there is a way to get free delivery as if there was I wouldn't mind ordering something else with it.

Got one already! Descent drive but not the best if im being honest. Parks itself a lot which makes a nasty noise - the type you don't want to hear! And often plays catch up when playing 1080p movies. These are known issues with these which can be explored more in depth over at the Seagate customer support forum!

Suppose it makes a good backup drive.
