3-4 Beers a Night.. Damaging?

:S i have average 4-5 large bottles of stella on a friday night and then monday - thursday i have a max of 2,But im younger and my body is in better shape :P

I'm probably more at risk than you to be honest...

I don't drink during the week, just because I don't...I don't have the need too...I prefer to come home, have dinner, have some water, then settle with a cup of tea! haha...I have on space in my stomach for Beer etc as I get bloated to easy.

But I go out most fridays and Saturdays, and willl easily have 5 pints or more.

But last Saturday I only had 3 pints. It's random.

But like I said, I'm probably worse off, as I suddenly poison my stomach with a high volume twice a week...then leave it.

My dad used to, half a bottle of gin every night for 30years. We had to bury him 3 months ago at the age of 54

So yeah drinking a few most nights a week isnt nearly as bad as his habit but its not the best thing to do every evening (sorry its a little bit of a downer)

I have been there, my father died at the age of 52. The certificate stated the reason as heart attack due to hepatic failure. Basically his liver gave up and the strain on his body caused the attack. To see a once strong, quiet man, someone I loved dearly and was very proud of, wrecked by drink was the most painful period in my life.

I drink, sometimes too much, but I think the one 'gift', if you can call it that, left me by my father is the little voice a the back of my mind that says "enough". I do not want to die like my father did and nor do you (all of us not just the OP), do yourself a favour and cut down. Missing out a few beers is not the end of the world but adding those extra ones in may just shorten your time on the planet.

I suppose I should make a relevant comment at some point.

I don't drink much at all. I only drink with friends, or sometimes one or two left over cans while playing a computer game on-line. Basically about 3 times a month I'm out drinking, and about 4 pints average. And the left over cans is about once a month.

That's why I tend to 'budget' myself when I go out now...Just take less money...Can't spend it then!

And yes, we can actually get tabs at my local, but I don't, I just stop drinking.

I tend not to drink every night, usually have 1 or two nights a week where i wont drink, usually 1/2 pints 3 nights a week and 4/5 friday and saturday probably over the limit but less than a lot of people!

Guess it depends if you'er the sort to end up doing it for the rest of your life. When I was living in London, and after my flatmates moved out, I was in the pub every night for about 4 months on end. I was drinking around 6-8 pints every night. At the same time I was doing fitness training, mostly running. I couldn't seem to drop my time below 10:30 for the 2.4Km run. However, once I moved home, I stopped going to the pub all the time, and even stopped doing my running. Once I decided to start running again, I was able to run a 9 minute 30 for the 2.4Km, so the alcohol/beer was obviously having a massive effect on me with out me realising.

I dont know why everyone is so worried about the goverments daily intake gidelines.
I generally have a few beers a few nights a week, then a bender with the boys any weekend im off.
I think most people my age do aswell.
i smoke i dont do any excersize and have a really bad diet.
but i do have a very phisical job and am fitter than most people i know.
you know yer own body, i say if you feel fine then **** it :D
