3-4 Beers a Night.. Damaging?

I dont know why everyone is so worried about the goverments daily intake gidelines.
I generally have a few beers a few nights a week, then a bender with the boys any weekend im off.
I think most people my age do aswell.
i smoke i dont do any excersize and have a really bad diet.
but i do have a very phisical job and am fitter than most people i know.
you know yer own body, i say if you feel fine then **** it :D

Say that when you get older! You will sure but regret what you have put your body under in your youth; it does catch up with you. I am still young but don’t drink and smoke, call me boring but I know what effects they can have and its quite shocking seeing someone go through various disease due to smoking and drinking.

Yeh there is not getting away with it that smoking is extremely bad for you and i aim to stop.

but the goverments guidlines on everything else day to day are rediculos,
so ive no doubt in their drinking reserch they are playing it extremely safe and the body can handle a whole lot more with no permanent consiquenses.

Yeah beer isn’t bad in moderation its smoking that’s the killer.

try going a month without alcohol
sadly some people feel they need to drink to have fun, socialize, relax

personally the last time i had a drink was February
and i have never drunk in the house

see now, I could stop drinking I guess...

But if I goto a pub...what do I drink? I don't really like coke, or Lemonade, and you can't really go to a pub, and just drink water, especialy tap water.

And to be fair, most alcoholic drinks cost less than non alcoholic drinks...=/

Currently lowering my BMI, Body fat %, cholesterol and weight so totally cut out beer altogether, much easier than I thought too which has made it easier. Sleeping better, no hangovers, feel better, skin better and still enjoy any socialising I do, result all round :)

3-4 a night isn't a mega ammount in itself, it's prob the fact that this time is stopping you taking on board liquids (ie water) and it cancelling out any other good things you do or eat

I used to drink quite a bit a night. Say half a bottle of wine plus. Sounds a mega amount to the recomended daily or weekly intake but nothing compared to our European neighbours such as France, Italy and Spain.

All of which appear to age better than us.

p.s Personal opinion not based on facts or figures just observation from travelling a lot.

A bottle of red and two cans of lager tonight.
I've tried to cut down the mid week drinking over the last month or so.
must have been about a hundred units a week at some points.
I can quite happily get through a litre of gin in a night which is quite worrying as alcoholism runs rampant in my family lol
