3090 - was it meant for gamers ?

I had a 3090 FE during the pandemic as I couldn’t get a 3080 until much later on. Tbh I felt sick paying £1400 and sold it on for a few hundred more thanking the universe for not letting me lose any money.
What did you replace it with? Managed to snag a 3080FE at MSRP?

With its 24 GB of RAM id be thinking it’s bound to be amazing but was it as it doesn’t appear to be much better especially considering the 4090 was so much better.

Was it a poor card ?

the top card from NV for me is never a gaming card, but more is a power card that lets just see if people buy it. very much like the 4090.. and the 5090 is said to be about £2300 why would NV not make one if people will buy it.
but i think the top end NV card are entry lvl business class.. they just happen to be good at gaming

every gen is different

like with the 3080 vs 3090 it wasn't worth paying the extra at all for a 3090
But with the 4080 vs 4090 it was worth paying the extra for a 4090 over the 4080 high price on release

lol - crying :)

I think its the face the 3090 had 10,496 CUDA cores and the 4090 has 16,000.

The 3080 had 8,000 odd depending on the 10GB/12GB version

The 4080 has 9700 and the super 10,200 so the difference between 3080/3090 and 4080/4090 was significant.

Enough to make a big difference

I sold my 4090 and downgraded to a FE3090 for £475. very happy with the 3090 but thinking of getting another for DaVinci Resolve

Covid and scalpers defo pushed up the prices and availability so it was crazy time. Even the 2080 super I bought on here during covid was £550

i hear that, i got a new 5600xt for £350 and sold it for £400 during covid after an upgrade.
i had people messaging me wanting to pay a lot more if i let them have it after the sale.
